Iraq is and was part of War on Terror

John Kerry seems to have a new three pronged attack on National Security. 1) Iraq is a mess, 2) I will be tough on terror, 3) Iraq has no connection to the War on Terror. Kerry even suggested we would be better off with Saddam back in power. Put aside the obvious fallacy of the argument for a moment, including the fact that Kerry called Saddam a terrorist.

Kerry’s new mantra pays little attention to the presence of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi in Iraq before the war. Zarqawi a poison and explosives expert was a member of al-qaeda who fought against the United States in Afghanistan. Zarqawi was wounded and retreated to Iraq for medical attention as a guest of Saddam. More refugees from Afghanistan came to Iraq to follow Zarqawi, who established control over the terror group Ansar-al Islam with camps in NW Iraq and operated with Saddam’s support. Zarqawi continued to grow his network, while in Iraq and more than 100 terrorists tied to Zarqawi have been arrested in the Middle East and Europe.

While in Iraq, Zarqawi ordered the killing of American diplomat Lawrence Foley who was stationed in Jordan during October 2002. In late 2002 and early 2003 an attack on European cities using the poison ricin was uncovered and disrupted. The terrorists were later connected to the Zarqawi network, and after the war traces of ricin were found at Ansar al-Islam camps.

In April of this year Jordan uncovered a plot by Zarqawi operatives to detonate a chemical bomb in Amman, Jordan. The suspects were caught and confessed that they had fled Afghanistan and gone to Iraq to follow Zarqawi. The would-be bombers then went to Jordan and set up shop, thanks to money, fake ids, etc. provided by Zarqawi.

I would remind you that Foley’s assassination, the ricin plot, and preparations for the Jordan bomb plot all began before the Iraq war began. If Kerry had implemented his current strategy, not only would we still have Saddam in power. In addition, Zarqawi would have a safe haven to plan assassinations, poison plots, and chemical bombs

" Iraq has no connection to the War on Terror."

Bush has done a miserable job of linking Iraq to the WOT. Maybe it’s rope-a-dope, I don’t know.

Doing so is very simple. Just ask your opponent to describe a strategy for winning the WOT while leaving Saddam in power. Then watch then squirm… Lot’s of fun, bring friends and refreshments.

Yeah, Kerry's best strategy is to tell everyone how Iraq is such a mess and we need to get out, then promise he is going to get our miserable so-called allies to help out over there if he is elected!!! Huh?

Countless terrorist groups operating inside Iraq, listen to American and British media. The criticisms levied by Kerry play well in the hands of the terrorists and provide the the added fuel to brainwash suicide bombers or to incite criminals to behead Americans and civilians of other nations.

I was, and am, deeply offended by the liberal line that the US deserved 911 for it's insensivity in dealing with the 7th century world in the 20th/21st century.

It is a harsh thing to say, but you can make the case that if American citizens fall for Kerry's BS they truly will have earned the next one.

True...We deserved it...OKAY Lets take Patty Murray (Wa Sen) Drop her in Iraq and see how long she lasts.

Patty thinks we didn't understand Osama and that's why we were attacked.
