***Derelection Of Duty: The Networks Support The Democrats By Not Carrying The President Tonight***
Fox News | Stardate: 0405.24

Posted on 05/24/2004 5:25:51 AM PDT by The Wizard

I just heard that the networks are making an "in kind" donation to the Kerry Campaign by Not carrying the President's address.....I offer the following as a suggestion to the White House:

I would advise the networks involved that 1. they can remove their placements at the White House 2. The can recall their reporters from the daliy briefing 3. They will no longer be copied ahead of time on any speeches by the President 4. They will no longer be flying with the press corps to any battlefield locations.

Then I would give them 20 minutes to announce they are carrying the speech.

in my 62yrs I've never seen the likes of what is going on now.

when will like minded Americans so something

In your 62 yrs you've also never seen civilian aircrafts used to destroy American buildings and lives. This isn't your father's world anymore. People want to kill us and there is no deterrence. Kill them or be killed by them.

By the way, your "like minded Americans" are doing something. They are bashing America, America's military and the Bush Administration daily. They are also supporting Al Qaeda by voting Kerry.

Clintoon, just about every Demonrat, Kerry himself are on RECORD in saying what a serious threat Saddam Hussein was with WMD and that action needed to be taken, but Clintoon and Demonrats never did anything about Bin Laden and they never did anything about Saddam Hussein. If Bush will continue to point out Kerry's statements in regards to Saddam Hussein and his threat to our country, WMD and Kerry's voting for the war resolution-therefore showing Iraq was a serious enough threat that he and a large part of the Demonrat party is on record in showing what they think of the Iraq WMD problem. Zinni had us cut and run during Somalia-what a General! A good Clintoon general. Bush has made foolish choices that have been backstabbing him. Zinni is not the best voice on these issues. After Somalia he can shut up.

Sorry, Mr. Kerry. Serving in a prior war does NOT constitute supporting our troops in this one. You are a fifth columnist, OPPOSING our troops. Admit it.

As for you KIA number, are you so clueless as to know that by ANY historical standard 700 men doesn't even constitute a major loss in a BATTLE, let alone a WAR? We have gotten so soft that we think that a single casualty is "unsustainable."

You are abetting the enemy, and I guarantee you any soldier we'd talk to in Iraq now would despise you.

You're full of it "Whiskey". Thousands of lives including possibly your rusty ass have been saved in this country by the very fact that no terrorist attack has occured since 9/11. That's a direct result of the two wars our military have won in Afganistan and Iraq. Your DNC line of talking points is pure BS. The same as heard daily on C-BS.

Michael Moore conspirazoids are susceptible to heavy drinking and propaganda.

They live for the "drama". Ignore them.

I have to agree, We either stop them now or we will be doing it later. I also think all immigrants who refuse to learn or speak ENGLISH, should be asked to leave. It is too late to close the borders the bad guys are already amoungst us. Times are a changing.

Question?..... why should they carry it? The President didn't request their coverage and it's normal for that request to be made, isn't it? They don't normally carry every speech he makes, do they?

In my viewing area the local TV Guide shows the following stations to be carrying the speech

***CSPAN
***FOX NEWS
***MSNBC

They should carry it if they believe it is news. They have already demonstrated they believe the matter of US policy in Iraq is news. They should carry it if they have run articles challenging the administration's "plan" or hinting at mismanagement. I think most networks have demonstrated an almost shrill "concern" over the management of post-war Iraq, so to carry it would be in keeping with this expression of concern, if that concern is sincere and not demagoguery.

If they carry articles about the speech after the fact, that will show they must have thought it was "news." In that case, they should give viewers a chance to view the speech itself and not just an "interpretation" of it, filter through the sooty brains of hired talking heads.

You don't believe they carry everything they believe is news now do you? It will get coverage from many angles, live, excerpts, various articles, some cable/satellite channels, newsprint, radio, television, columnist, editorials, refutations by the opposition, etc.

If people are truly interested they'll find the coverage and watch, read, listen..... jmo.

"The Bush campaign now claims that these issues are largely moot and that Bush has proved himself as a competent and daring "war president." And yet his actions in Iraq, and the vicious attacks against anyone who disagrees with his administration's logic, give many veterans serious pause.

Bush arguably has committed the greatest strategic blunder in modern memory. To put it bluntly, he attacked the wrong target. While he boasts of removing Saddam Hussein from power, he did far more than that. He decapitated the government of a country that was not directly threatening the United States and, in so doing, bogged down a huge percentage of our military in a region that never has known peace. Our military is being forced to trade away its maneuverability in the wider war against terrorism while being placed on the defensive in a single country that never will fully accept its presence."

James Webb was secretary of the Navy during the Reagan administration, and a Marine platoon and company commander in Vietnam. He also is an author and filmmaker.
