NEVER FORGET

.."TOM McSELFISH =

...Gov. BustaMENCHA"

........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.

...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.

...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

Signed:.."ALOHA RONNIE" Guyer / Republican Convention Witness

Would bills forbidding partial birth abortions and allowing for parental notification of abortions by minors advance your adgenda or not?

And if he DOES become Governor, what do you think he will owe conservatives in his own party for turning on him? MMMMMMMM? Nothing. That's what. Think about it.

1. An article from the 1970s
2. People change...did you do some wild things in your youth...especially in the 70s?
3. No one has a spotless record...I'll wager not even you.

voting for him would be more likely to actually advance their agenda than voting for Tom.

Provide evidence for your claim.

Would bills forbidding partial birth abortions and allowing for parental notification of abortions by minors advance your adgenda or not?

Such bills would save some babies. Is McClintock opposed to such bills?

I also think the McClintock people are by far getting way more hostile than Arnolds people... IMHO.

There are definitely two points of view on this score.

The important thing is having a FISCALLY Conservative Governor.

Yes, but moral principle is MORE important.

To "judge" Christians as "immoral" isn't right. I'm a Christian and I will be voting for Arnold as things stand.

I urge you to re-think your stance. What do you think would Jesus think of you putting fiscal conservativism and pragmatism (any means to an end - getting rid of dems by voting for a liberal) ahead of moral principle? The bible teaches me that you do the RIGHT THING and leave the result up to God, even if the circumstances seem impossible. We Christians are supposed to focus on God and not our circumstances. Need examples? David, Gideon, Jehoshaphat, Jonathan. I am sorry, but you are DEAD WRONG, and so is every Christian who sacrifices moral principle on the altar of defeating the democrats. This amounts to pragmatism and pragmatism assumes that you will control the outcome through human action. However, Romans 13 says that GOD appoints all rulers (not you or I), and God will give California EXACTLY what it deserves. Bottom line: Not you or anyone else can make a biblical case to me that voting for the MOST QUALIFIED AND MORAL MAN is the wrong thing. It most certainly is the right thing.

To "judge" Christians as "immoral" isn't right. I'm a Christian and I will be voting for Arnold as things stand.

I am sorry that sounds harsh, but the fact is that the act of voting for a reprobate is immoral, is it not? A candidate without a moral compass cannot be trusted to do the right thing as they have no fear of God. I didn't mean to say the Christian would be immoral, but the act of voting. There is no way around it. I can provide scriptures that tell us to admonish one another and correct one another in Christ.

It will have been the THIRD time for Republicans in this state. How pathetic is that?

I am not guided by party line. Many Republicans are as bad as democrats - especially in Kalifornia. Ahh-nold as governor is not much better than Bustamante as governor. They're both ultra-liberal.

Here is the bottom line: If Bustamante wins, it will be because Kalifornians voted for him! It will be because Kalifornians have no morals!! And they will get what they deserve!! I will NEVER SELL MY MORALS DOWN THE RIVER FOR POLITICAL OR FISCAL OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF GAIN.

What "single" issue?

Arnold gets a lot of guff about abortion, but his conservative credentials are lacking in every single issue brought up.

Simon wasn't unelectable, he was sabotaged.

Prior to that you offered yet another liberal against Davis. Pete Wilson was the liberal contender who couldn't cut the mustard. Conservatives compromised and got SQUAT out of the deal other than heartache.

Liberal Republicans are unelectable and harm any agenda that would steer California off of it's current path.

You have to try to support a conservative before claiming they are unelectable, you haven't done that, and don't even make the claim that you tried with Simon. The facts lay the lie to that claim to rest.

The very best claim that can be made is that Arnold will run California into the ground at 110 MPH instead of 200 MPH.

My Savior has forbidden me from voting for a candidate who supports the continued legality of baby-killing when a pro-life candidate is running. Your mileage may vary.

Got a text for that somewhere? I can't find anything specific in the Bible relating to politics. There's a verse in the old testament that demands a lesser penalty for causing a woman to abort than for causing the death of the woman. I can't get any of the radical pro-life folk to address that one though.

You are certainly not very biblical.

Hmmm. In my case at least, you might be right. I can truthfully say that I have never:

- Damned the entire human race and cursed the entire creation because of the acts of two people (Genesis 3:16-23; Romans 5:18)

- Drowned pregnant women, children, and animals (Genesis 7:20-23)

- Killed babies (Exodus 12:29-30; II Samuel 12:13-18; Romans 3:24-25)

- Ordered the extermination of men, women and children of seven nations and the theft of their land (Deuteronomy 7:1-2; I Samuel 15:3; Isaiah 13:9,15-18)

- Threatened to send non-Christians to eternal torture (Revelation 21:8).

- Caused the earth to open and swallow entire families (Numbers 16:37-32)

- Used fire to punish and kill people (Leviticus 10:1-2; Numbers 11:1-2)

- Sent wild animals such as bears, lions, and serpents to attack people (II Kings 2:23-24; II Kings 17:24-25; Numbers 21:6)

- Sanctioned slavery (Leviticus 25:44-46)

- Ordered religious persecution (Deuteronomy 13:12-16)

- Sanctioned cannibalism (Jeremiah 19:9)

I'm proud to say that I'm not "Biblical" at all.

How much good could be done on a HOST of things "conservative" do you imagine could be done if we had a Republican, with Republicans helping him in office? Think about it! And please, as Christians, lets not "judge" each other. I don't think we should do that. I think this is becoming FAR to emotional for everyone involved. And to be honest.. it is getting REALLY ugly. How Christian is that? I also think the McClintock people are by far getting way more hostile than Arnolds people... IMHO. Again, I am normally on your side of things, but we will probably have to agree to dis-agree on this one.

You assume that Republicans are somehow the savior. Most Republicans in California (except one! - McClintock) voted for the bill that tripled the car tax! Republicans are compromised in many cases. McClintock is not only the most princpled and truly conservative, but also the most qualified.

By the way, I am NOT a republican - few if any of them following the U.S. Constitution. Republicans are light democrats as far as I'm concerned. I repudiate the Republican party for their moral cowardice among many other failings. I can provide you with a litany of reasons why Republicans no longer represent MY interests as a Christian. Here are just 13 of them:

1. The expansion of the federal govt. under Bush (neocon philosophy) which translates into even more government control (if that be possible!) over people's lives and less freedom. Is it any wonder that most Americans fear the federal government?

2. Unfettered and ongoing Invasion of illegal aliens about which all Republicans are silent on except the courageous Mr. Tancredo (who I understand is persona non grata at the White House). Republicans in Congress must know that three quarters of Americans want something done about this danger to our national security and economy and sovereignty. Apparently, Republicans in Congress has more important things to do than protect our borders from invasion (such as giving undeserved respect to traitorous democrats). Bush must know that hispanics will vote democrat no matter what he does, and that he is alienating conservatives. This issue is going to cost Bush MANY votes!

3. Bush's verbal approval of SCOTUS' endorsement of racial quotas in Michigan - clearly a racist decision and a constitutional violation of equal protection under the law. Where is the fight against judicial tyranny? Where are the impeachments? Where are the elected Republicans who take their oath to the Constitution seriously (see Joseph Farah's "Taking America Back" on this topic).

4. Repub. Party's flirtation with homosexual rights groups, e.g. Log Cabin Republicans, etc. I think Republicans had better remember that their CORE CONSTITUENCY - evangelical Christians - hold to MORAL ABSOLUTES not MORAL RELATIVISM. Does right and wrong change with the culture? Apparently, Republicans are starting to think so.

5. Bush's globalist and "international policeman" tendencies (another neocon plank) which are in direct conflict with U.S. national sovereignty concerns, and repeated interventions that are none of our business (e.g. Liberia). This policy creates "foreign entanglements" warned against by George Washington, creates new enemies, and stretches our military too far. The U.S. military cannot protect America - only God can. 911 proved that. America is not invincible - it is vulnerable.

6. Erosion of the Bill of Rights by an out of control judiciary (Lawrence decision and 10 commandments decision) and unconstitutional federal bureaucracies. Who is upholding the plain meaning of the Constitution these days? Who in our government will stand up for the rule of law (and I don't mean FIAT judicial law by a Politburo - I mean codifed straight-forward law of the U.S. Constitution)? I think every member of the Federal Judiciary should be forced to read William Blackstone's commentaries. The Republican Party sits by tacitly and allows the spirit and letter of the Constitution to be repeatedly violated!

7. The Bush Admin's policy toward Israel ("Road Map") which gives equal treatment to terrorist groups and peoples. Big mistake this. There is no moral equivalence in the middle east conflict. The muslim arabs are WRONG. Period. We should support Israel and/or turn them loose on those scum - it's the right thing. This Road Map will lead to grief for America as God will protect Israel. Bush needs better advisors on this.

8. The obsequious U.S. relations with the anti-semitic and anti-American United Nations as exemplified in our pathetic request for their help in Iraq. Where is Bush's backbone on this? Americans HATE the U.N.!!!! I loathe globalists.

9. The failure of Congress to exercise its Constitutional powers for declaring war and reigning in the Supreme Court (Exceptions Clause remains unused - Why?). Congress is now the weak sister of the three branches even though our founders intended it to be the most powerful branch. Congress fiddles while Rome burns.

10. The wimpy and effeminate Republican response to the fillibustering democrats on judicial nominations. The Republicans in the U.S. Senate act like a bunch of spineless eunochs. It's infuriating to watch this pathetic spectacle. What are the Republicans afraid of? They should force those odious democrats to maintain that filibuster 24/7/365!!!!

11. The fawning acquiescence of Republicans toward UNCONSTITUTIONAL abortion laws. Roe v. Wade is a clear violation of the right to life, the 10th and 14th amendments to the Constitution. The abortuaries operate at full steam while Ashcroft and Congress do nothing to protect the unborn. The bill against partial birth abortion is too little and too late. I and many others are tired of lip service on this issue. This should be attacked with the fervor of the abolitionists who refused to try people who aided escaped slaves!

12. The drift into democracy - characterized by mob rule (rule by polls and special interests) and out of control taxation. Does anyone remember what a Constitutional Republic looks like? I fear our Republic is already gone and that we now have a democracy for all intents and purposes. The founders considered democracy a form of tyranny (and they were right on), yet members in our govt. (many of whom are badly educated lawyers) are constantly referring to the USA as a "democracy" in their everyday speech.

13. The buddy-buddy attitude with muslim nations that are our enemies - like Saudi Arabia, who are our enemies not our friends, and the lack of action by the State Dept. to return kidnapped American citizens to their American mothers. When is Bush and the rest of the country going to come to the realization that ISLAM is the enemy, not just Al Qaeda. I recommend Republicans read Dr. Robert Morey's book, "Winning the War Against Islam" if they want to know how to get it done.
