Pagan band demands 'quiet area for sex'
A pagan rock band is demanding a "quiet area for fornication" during a summer solstice celebration in Birmingham.
The event, billed as a family fun day out, has been condemned by the Church of England, reports the Birmingham Evening Mail.
Headliners Inkubus Sukkubus demanded the "fornicatorium" at the event, which is being held to mark the longest day of the year.
Managers at the Custard Factory venue confirmed a quiet area would be provided for the group, fronted by female vocalist Candia.
A spokesman said: "They said they needed a quiet fornicatorium. They say it is a fertility rite. The singer goes into a trance-like state. We don't quite know what will happen once the frenzied activity begins."
Druids from across the country will descend on the Custard Factory for the celebration, which is billed as a perfect day out for the whole family, on Saturday.
Rhiannon Biddulph, of the UK Pagan Association, said: "There are certain festivals were we celebrate the creation of life where you have to have sex. Most pagans have a fairly relaxed attitude to sex."
But a spokesman for the Church of England in Birmingham said: "It seems the Druids have overdosed on the magic mushrooms when arranging this event. It beggars belief that this kind of tackiness and tawdriness is being promoted as a cultural family event."

No it only proves your ignorance pertaining to the Bible.
I am not going to go through a entire study on the Words of Christ and the OT.
You have shown that you have no belief and your intentions are clear so I'd rather not waste the time. If you were really interested it is a simple study done easily with a Bible.

They don't have "sex". They have "fertility rites" in a fornicatorium, and go into "trance-like" state.

Oh dear brilliant and educated pagan priest, the Greek word for rabbi simply means "my master."The Hebrew word for my master is ba'ali, which means "my husband."
It is amazing how circular these conversations get.

my "religious" beliefs are a personal conceit with no admitted connection to reality Is this your way of saying that your belief system cannot be defended? That your brain submits to your glands in matters of faith and practice? I'd expect that kind of a response from a liberal, not a conservative.
Whether you refuse to defend your faith or simply are incapable of doing so, the pagan contradictions stand:
The pagan system contradicts the naturalism it embraces,
it has no philosophical or intellectual base,
brute passion dominates reason,
pleasure prevails over personal responsibility,
and the benighted spirit of the dark ages is back in vogue.

Dead Corpse fancies himself an intellectual yet he doubts the existence of Jesus. Even his liberal buddies at the Jesus Seminar don't doubt his existence. Lets see now... he's not sure Jesus even existed but he's sure Jesus was married. Good. Very good. Moron. You obviously don't know the difference between pointing out a logical fallicy, and believing in the truth of that the fallicy.
It wasn't that long ago when mr Corpse couldn't spell the word religion. Now he claims to know why pseduegrapha was excluded from the Canon. The only thing mr Corpse, an admitted pagan priest, seems to be good at is name-calling.
Calling a "spade a spade" is hardly name calling. Cast your aspersions elsewhere you zealot.
Which brings up another contradiction: FR is supposed to be a conservative forum, yet some seem to advocate anti-conservative values like the disregard for personal responsibility and self-control.
It is your religion that advocates people being forgiven sins by a mere word. In mine, you pay for it by action and deed. So who is dodging responsibility here? Self Control? You mean like Pat Robertson and Jim Baker? get a grip.

Is this your way of saying that your belief system cannot be defended? No. It's my way of saying that anyone who takes anything on faith is a fool. That, while there are as yet unknown areas of reality... there is no "spiritual plane" of existance that can be proven.
Keep trying to tie me to the fluffy-headed neo-pagans. It only makes you look more stupid.

The Hebrew word for my master is ba'ali, which means "my husband." Does not apply.
The claim was that Jesus was called "Rabbi" which meant he was married. If Jesus was called "Rabbi," how do we know that? From the NT. In what language is the NT written? Greek. Therefore the Greek for Rabbi is all we can apply. If you wish to apply Hebrew, indicate the source document in which Jesus was called "Rabbi" in Hebrew.

Hay, now we go to far. Orthodox Church fathers formed Bible. They studied and were learned men beyond any here. In the Church wisdom truest of books taken, rest either used as secondary texts or tossed out. Just because I write about Christ not mean I write truth. Islam writes about Christ but they no where near truth...so shall we take their view just because writen? Hardly.

I am not condoning a legislated morality beyond common law or any "burning". Your pain is your own, leave the Christians out of it, it is your cross to bear until you give it to Christ. We are only the messengers.
Funny though. Those 'chowderheads' sure seem to get your goat, maybe they are not so stupid after all. You are afraid and incompetence is nothing to fear when it comes to the world struggle.

We are only the messengers. I've heard your "message". It falls in the same catagory as telemarketers and flim-flam artists.

As a woman, I can't see it...
Even though you do sound like a 1950's detective (She wanted it baby! ;)
Nevermind...lets just say I can see the other possibility being closer to the truth.
But hey, Not many books in the bible written from the female perspective.
