Pagan band demands 'quiet area for sex'
A pagan rock band is demanding a "quiet area for fornication" during a summer solstice celebration in Birmingham.
The event, billed as a family fun day out, has been condemned by the Church of England, reports the Birmingham Evening Mail.
Headliners Inkubus Sukkubus demanded the "fornicatorium" at the event, which is being held to mark the longest day of the year.
Managers at the Custard Factory venue confirmed a quiet area would be provided for the group, fronted by female vocalist Candia.
A spokesman said: "They said they needed a quiet fornicatorium. They say it is a fertility rite. The singer goes into a trance-like state. We don't quite know what will happen once the frenzied activity begins."
Druids from across the country will descend on the Custard Factory for the celebration, which is billed as a perfect day out for the whole family, on Saturday.
Rhiannon Biddulph, of the UK Pagan Association, said: "There are certain festivals were we celebrate the creation of life where you have to have sex. Most pagans have a fairly relaxed attitude to sex."
But a spokesman for the Church of England in Birmingham said: "It seems the Druids have overdosed on the magic mushrooms when arranging this event. It beggars belief that this kind of tackiness and tawdriness is being promoted as a cultural family event."

So did Abraham sin with the handmaid? Yes.
if so, are all Arabs condemned by that sin?
No. They have the freedom of choice to choose Jesus as their Lord and Savior like anyone else does. However, there is an historical reality that Abraham's sin produced a line that has been in conflict with the Jews since that early event.

Idiots. Everybody knows you're supposed to fornicate on Beltane, May 1st.
To: joesnuffy
pagan does not mean satanic. pagans don't believe in satan dear.
and a question for the pagans here: do pagans call sex fornication? do these guys sound like actual pagans to you or pagan wannabes that are just looking for attention?

"What's the chances that the video of this event won't wind up on the internet? They will most likely be proud to document the proceedings on some Druid website. "
It'll be for sale on TV during commercials after midnight. Look for "Druids Gone Wild"

Also I wonder if the Custard Factor will continue to manufacture custard on that Saturday
It sounds like
someone will be.

You are exactly right. And the Harry Potter movies are awesome! I like them as much as LOTR.

Based on my understanding of the article the Custard Facotry is a band, not an actually facility for the production of custard.

I want to see some real pagan rituals, like burning captives up in big wicker cages shaped like men....

"What about man born on island without word of Christ...is he automatically condemned? If so, then you say God makes some men to be damned? "
Not that I'm defending twigs, but i know the biblical answer to that question so I'll answer.. my dad told me that people who have never heard the word are considered children in the eyes of god (no i don't remember the scripture to back it up) so they aren't punished for their lack of knowledge. I find the abortion not being in the bible issue very interesting. I had never heard some of these references before. I'll have to hang around this thread to see where it goes.

Pagan band demands "quiet area for fornication"How are they going to ensure that it's quiet? Will they hire a librarian to "shhhhhh" the fornicators? Are they going to expel moaners?

By your interpretation, all Jews are condemned as they don't see Jesus as the Messiah.
Of course since the Jews are the Chosen People they would no doubt disagree. The point of my arguing with you is to show you that "sin", while a transgression against your interpretation of law, is not the reason for the current conflict between Arab and Jew.
You conveniently ignore the sins of Solomon, the product of the sin between David and Bathsheba. Take a look at the Song of Solomon someday. Your picking and choosing Pauline interpretation of Scripture to back your point is arguably using the Lord's name in vain. That you condescend to wish me well in my studies show you to be the obtuse pharisee who cannot consider an opposing viewpoint. While no sin against God, this is a sin against another, not showing love but only arguing the law
Christianity, in my interpretation teaches forgiveness, not right and wrong. And as long as pietous fools like yourself are interpreting scripture to condemn whole peoples to death for the sin of a distant forefather we will have conflict--between Christians, Jews, Pagans, Druids, Mulims, et. al.
I suggest you get your head of your studies and do some independent thinking yourself.

Probably...because the singer might not be able to go into her "trance-like state" if there's too much noise about.

See what happens when you only eat the brown M&M's.

So did Abraham sin with the handmaid? and if so, are all Arabs condemned by that sin? I don't want to get into a debate over something that has nothing to do with the thread. I want to talk about Wicker Men and fornicatoriums and fertility-rites and trance-like states, and the like.

so solly,
this is funnier than it is sinister. I've got a new name for my apartment.
It's a 2 bedroom fornicatorium. (or don't I wish)

Yes, I saw that movie on TV years, and years ago. It freaked me out. A detective arrives in an isolated Cornish village to investigate a missing-persons case. Everybody in the village is really weird. It turns out, though, that they were all pagans, and he was lured into the village to be their human sacrifice, to be burned in a man-shaped wicker cage.

You conveniently ignore the sins of Solomon, the product of the sin between David and Bathsheba. I am very familiar with David and Bathsheba. David paid heavily for that sin. God forgave him because he asked for forgiveness. But God's forgiveness did not dismiss the consequences of his sin.
Take a look at the Song of Solomon someday.
I have. Solomon also paid a heavy price for having so many concubines, particularly of women who worshipped strange gods.
Your picking and choosing Pauline interpretation of Scripture to back your point is arguably using the Lord's name in vain.
A difference of opinion is not using the Lord's name in vain.
That you condescend to wish me well in my studies
No condescension meant. It was sincere. Please forgive me.
show you to be the obtuse pharisee who cannot consider an opposing viewpoint. While no sin against God, this is a sin against another, not showing love but only arguing the law
There are many issues on which honest discussion and opposition can take place regarding the Bible. We were dealing with an essential issue and I believe you are missing the point of what God is saying. If that is true, then I would not be loving my God to agree with you for the sake of fulfilling your definition of love and peace. Eternal salvation is at sake.
Christianity, in my interpretation teaches forgiveness, not right and wrong.
Nor according for the Bible. That is, as you say, your interpretation.
And as long as pietous fools like yourself
That could be. It's the reason I need Jesus as my Savior.
are interpreting scripture to condemn whole peoples to death for the sin of a distant forefather we will have conflict--between Christians, Jews, Pagans, Druids, Mulims, et. al.
I am not saying that at all. Our forefathers--ALL of them--did sin and we have conflict in the world today as a result of their actions. That's historical reality. But we are not condemned because of that. We are condemned because Adam sinned in the garden and we inherited his sin nature. But Jesus offers us the way to reconciliation with God, so we are without excuse. The Bible lays out God's plan explicitly.

Sin. Is that all you worry about is sin? How about dying a good death and living forever with your ancestors in the Halls of Valhalla?
