Is Bush the Antichrist?

During the eight years of Clinton's presidency, I was repeatedly asked, "Chuck, do you think Bill Clinton is the antichrist?" (Of course, I answered no.) Therefore, it is more than interesting to me that since G.W. Bush became president no one has asked if I thought he was the antichrist. Not one single person! Instead, many people attribute to Bush god-like qualities, which actually makes him a better candidate than Clinton was.
You see, one of the chief characteristics of the coming antichrist is that he appears "as an angel of light." Therefore, an obvious reprobate such as Bill Clinton is immediately disqualified. The antichrist, by very definition, is a master deceiver. He must be someone who appears as good and benevolent. The bite is in his tail not in his tongue. In reality, Bush's angelic persona makes him much more dangerous than bad boy Billy.
For example, while Clinton was in the process of appointing numerous homosexual activists to his administration, copious letters from Christian leaders such as Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, and D. James Kennedy flooded America's Christian community. Appeals for protest and resistance were heard from pulpits throughout the country. A massive media campaign began against Clinton.
Today, however, President Bush is in the process of copying Clinton's numerous appointments of open homosexuals to high positions of government, but there are no letters, no warnings from pulpits, and no media campaigns opposing it. Just the opposite. Bush is being defended, lauded, and glorified for everything he does, no matter how unconstitutional or unscriptural it might be.
When Clinton only talked of legalizing embryonic stem cell research, he was castigated and condemned. Bush actually made the procedure legal, and yet, he was praised and honored. Clinton was denigrated when he tried to convince Israel to give up land for peace. Now, Bush is in the process of actually trying to create an independent Palestinian state for Israel's enemies (with Jerusalem as its capital, no less), yet continues to receive glowing adulation. If Clinton even suggested that America's immigration laws might need to be liberalized, he was denounced in the harshest terms; but Bush can actually grant limited amnesty to thousands of illegal aliens, and there is not the faintest whisper of protest.
Do you recall how Clinton was criticized for the "low lifes" he invited to the White House? Well, Bush recently invited wild man rocker, Ozzie Osbourne, to the White House. Have you heard any notable Christian leader take Bush to task for that?
You remember Ozzie Osbourne, don't you? He is the former front man for the heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. He is famous for stage antics such as biting the heads off birds and bats. His abuse of drugs and alcohol are also well known. Furthermore, Ozzie Osbourne desecrated The Alamo by pissing all over it. In spite of this, George W. Bush is said to be one of Osbourne's biggest fans. As such, Osbourne was recently invited to the White House for dinner. Have you heard any criticism of Bush for this?
Obviously, I do not believe President Bush is the antichrist any more than I believed Bill Clinton was. However, I do believe that Bush possesses more deceptive qualities than Clinton did and, therefore, is more dangerous. I also now understand more clearly how even "the elect" can be deceived. Bush' s acceptance by the overwhelming majority of Christian people proves the country is ready for the antichrist, whoever he is.

newspeakI knew what you meant -just didn't know how Pres. Bush was going to make it better.
Boy we disagree on school choice - but that can wait for another time and another day.
Running for office on a local level will do nothing for the border situation and I don't think we can wait.
The tolerance I was speaking of was toward the ME people - I got very, very tired of hearing about it - don't know how that fits in.
Right now Bush is our only hope, and because so many are clinging to that straw, that makes it even more imperative that we watch what he does.

LOL! This guy has it all wrong, Hillary is the anti Christ, and everyone knows that!!!!!
Some of this is totally untrue, but the end justifies the means when you are a liberal, no matter how religious you are, right?
To: Neville72
I don't believe Bush ever invited Ozzie to the White House. He was put on the guest list by a journalist for the White House correspondent's dinner, if I'm not mistaken. Exactly, but don't confuse 'em with the facts. I also don't recall him granting amnesty to illegal aliens either, but maybe I am just not informed? If he let the stem cell stuff be legal, then why are the women's groups and lefties all screaming that he didn't? I am confused. This guy took some little facts, and twisted them into truth that doesn't exist.
I dare say that most of the posters on this thread won't even recognize the anti-christ when he DOES come on the scene. And that's SAD, very very sad.

I think it's a good idea to keep them guessing about exactly what one might do in the voters booth. And it's not a matter of being "angry" with Bush over immigration, not at all, it's more a matter of fear of the damage he can inflict with his ideology. I know good and well he is too smart to believe that all these illegals are noble, honest, hard working people with no agenda of their own.
Control of our borders and votes is a matter of survival, and that is not a little inconsequential item to be dimissed as pique on my part, but the lynchpin on which all else hangs, the survival of the Constitution, our sovereignty, and our future. I consider the issue as dangerous and critical as terrorism in the long run. Someone, some political party must be forced to step up to the plate and not only address the issue, but actually do something about it.
Both parties in D.C. ignore all the call's, letters, faxes, and emails, regarding the subject, that bespeaks a foolish or corrupt agenda and we don't have decades to stop it. If the Republicans want people to mow their lawn, fine and dandy, control the border, register workers, id them, limit their numbers, expel those on welfare, pass federal legislation barring them from the polls, return all public signs to english only, and most people would be fine and dandy with the situation.

Trace wasn't insulting Matthew Viti. She was referring to Chuck Baldwin, who wrote the silly thing. Matthew Viti, Chuck Baldwin ---> different people. I am reasonably sure of this. If that be the case, Trace is owed and has my apology. Journalists are open game IMHO, just not fellow freepers.
Thanks for the clarification.

Illegal immigration is NOT " globalism ". Neither, for that matter, is legal immigration.
You and your ilk need your collective noses rubbed in many things ; however, remidial reading and comprehension class, not to mention politics 101 and economics 101 would also do you a world of good.
Your distaste for my use of " tinfoil " can easily be changed to obtuse hysterics. Know-Nothings is also a good replacement. Take your choice. :-)

I have no disagreement with your comments in reply to my earlier comment. The word "antichrist" is itself greatly misunderstood, especially among Christians today. The word itself is used only by John in his epistles: (KJV)
1 John 2:18
"Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time."
1 John 2:22
"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."
1 John 4:3
"And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world."
2 John 1:7
"For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist."
We can many of us think of individuals, both Jew and Gentile, who would fit the descriptions in these verses penned by John.
Many theologians and Bible teachers today have turned the book of Revelation into scary things such as black helicopters, Armegeddon, antichrist - things that it is not. The book of Revelation, is just what it says it is in Rev 1:1 "The Revelation of Jesus Christ...".
To: nopardons
Your personal attacks don't faze me, it's the usual tactic for those who have nothing else to fall back on and become hysterical. I'll quote the President, "I would like to see a free trade zone from the north of Canada to the tip of Cape Horn".
Every definition of free trade includes open borders, "the woman in Chili can travel north to the USofA and sell her goods". Like she would ever really go back to Chili.
The Presidents first official trip out of the country, days after swearing to uphold the Constituion which includes, to protect the United States from invaders, was to Mexico to talk amnesty with Fox. Twice he was prevented from sneaking 245i past frightened legit citizens after 9-11. 245i is nothing more than a continuing blanket amnesty, when ever, and how ever many times they choose to exercise it. The Democrats wanted to make it permanent. According to an article on FR, illegals are able to obtain housing via H.U.D. a little under the table deal gratis of the Bush Administration. I have a few in my own neighborhood that moved into homes that never had a "For Sale" sign in front of them and were the property of H.U.D.
I would like to think that President Bush has had a sudden realization regarding our sovereignty and graps it's value in the scheme of things. I admire him on other issues, but they won't stand up and any thing gained will be easily erased if the situation does not change. I do know that keeping silent about the bad state the nation is in will only begat more of the same if politicans believe we will stand for it and stay on the plantation. I prefer to give them reason to worry.
You want the definition of globalism in the average Joe's book? Ten percent unemployment.
To: Bushfanatic
I think your nick explain your irrational response.
To: GGpaX4DumpedTea
Your response sounds Preterist. The doctrine that say there is no future antichrist, beast, or man of sin. All this was fulfilled several thousand years ago in Nero.
For the reasons I outlined in my previous post, Nero could not have been the antichrist. An evil man, to be sure, but the Jews never claimed him for their Messiah/Christ.

Should I bump this thread or not?
To: sasportas
Let me say it this way, there is a future antichrist, beast, man of sin. No, Nero certaintly was not. However, if we read the Book of Revelation to find the antichrist, beast, man of sin etc etc we are missing the point of the book. I believe it is what it says it is, "the revelation of Jesus Christ". It is about Him. And yes, some Jews, maybe as a nation, will one day "recognize" a false Messiah and trust him to "save" them and establish a kingdom on earth. There will be those who do not.
The revelation of Jesus Christ begins in Genesis, continues for another at least 64 writings (books), and is pulled together in Revelation. It is all there for Jew (to the Jew first) and Gentile. Are we looking for Jesus, or are we looking for the beast?

"President Bush is a student of the Scripture, seeking God's will and wisdom in prayer daily, and asking for prayers for him from the American people. He is overtly Christian, far more so than Ronald Reagan ever was."
No offense intended, but how can you purport to know the workings of a man's heart? I'm a GOP voter of Bush and admire his politics, but I'll let God be the judge of his faith. Given the fact that he's a politician who must appeal to a largely-religious electorate, it's pretty intelligent for him to do as much as possible to appear religious....but only George and God know the workings of a man's heart.
Now...there's not a fiber of my being that believes Pres. Bush is the antichrist (ridiculous), but I will say that, when the Beast does make his appearance, neither you nor I will recognize him initially (at least, according to Scripture). Only a Stupid Satan would show up in a recognizably-evil form.
"Or would you like to live in a theocracy? "
Hell no! Not even a Christian one!

No problem with anything you said.
I don't know President Bush's heart.......I am admittedly 'judging from the outward appearance' but also understand that you CAN recognize the work of the Holy Spirit in one's life by their 'fruits.' If you go down the Scriptural list of the fruits of the Spirit in Galations 5, and observe this President's behavior, you can see evidence of all of them.
I would also add that it is unlikely to be able to maintain a facade of faith where it doesn't exist under the set of circumstances President Bush has found himself in, and that it would be difficult to get everyone who knows him to corroborate a false faith.
But your point is well taken, and understood (by me) from the beginning that there is no way to really KNOW what's in his heart.
HOWEVER......I think we can safely assume that we know what's NOT in xlinton's heart by his behavior. His 'spirituality' was a total fraud.
And my point was just as you stated as far as living in a theocracy is concerned. There are people on this forum who claim that this President is not Christian enough because he has not forced his own personal faith on the laws of the land, and abused the Constitution in doing so. And some of them may well have been on this very thread.
