Teenager Shot By Drug Agents Dies
14-Year-Old Taken Off Life-Support

SAN ANTONIO -- A teenage girl who was shot by Drug Enforcement Administration agents died Tuesday night at Wilford Hall Medical Center.
Ashley Villarreal (pictured, left), 14, was taken off life-support equipment after she was declared brain dead from a gunshot wound she suffered to the back of her head late Sunday night.
DEA officials and San Antonio police officials said that agents fired four rounds at a car Villarreal was driving because the vehicle was speeding toward them and they suspected the girl's father, a suspected drug dealer, was in the vehicle trying to get away. Joey Angel Villarreal, who was the subject of surveillance that night, was not in the car with his daughter. He ended up turning himself in to authorities Monday.
"It was no mistake," said Daniel Robles, a family friend who was in the car with the teen. "It was no accident."
Robles said the agents were not wearing rain gear during the surveillance and claimed that they allegedly boxed in Villarreal's car and opened fire.
"These are professionals," Robles said. "There's nothing professional about this."
Law officers declined to respond to Robles' version or to discuss details of the case Tuesday, citing a pending investigation.
Robles, who was with family members when they said they last goodbyes to the teen, said he promised her that his version of the story will come out.
"Ashley's dead. They took her life. Nothing's gonna bring it back," Robles said.
Your despicable for defending these creeps.
Probation, probation, probation. So much for an effective "war on drugs" strategy for your side, eh?
I respect your views on being anti-drug. They are illegal. You can therefore make a legitimate case for being against drugs because they are illegal.
However...when non-uniformed officers shoot a 14 year old girl in the back of the head, and you blame her father who was not even there, I have to say you live in an interesting world in your head. I guess in your world, no cop ever makes a mistake, and every thing they do is always justified.
Rationalizing - "to attribute (one's thoughts or actions) to rational and creditable motives without analysis of true and especially unconscious motives" or "to provide plausible but untrue reasons for conduct".
I didn't see anything in the story about "neighbors, complaining"...did you just make that up like you usually do when the facts don't meet your expectations?
The only thing I can't stand is your incessant cheerleading and boot-licking of murdering cops.
There was no need to kill this innocent girl, but according to you she deserved it because her father is a drug dealer.
You're deliberately trying to start a flame war in order to get this post sent to the Smokey Backroom.
I don't know. But this 14 year gal, wont have to worry about it. Only one more ride she'll be taken, and that will be in a hearse.
Huh I guess you can't fathom that a neighbor may call the cops or the DEA over overt drug trafficking happening in his or her neighborhood.
Oh that's right these people are people who should mind their own business. Why should property values matter. How dare these JBT neighbors complain about drug trafficking in their neighborhood.
Maybe you should take the views of the neighbors into account, which you hardly hear about in the mainstream press, anyway. They got to get people like you to reflexively knee jerk and imply that all cops are murderers.
Robles said the agents were not wearing rain gear during the surveillance and claimed that they allegedly boxed in Villarreal's car and opened fire.
"These are professionals," Robles said."There's nothing professional about this."
Law officers declined to respond to Robles' version or to discuss details of the case Tuesday, citing a pending investigation.
In other words, they already have all the "facts" they need (the cops' version of the story), and the truth is not necessary for them to make a decision.
The cop-thug will get a paid vacation AND a medal for his "bravery".
Well they're self policing and have soverign immunity.
Uh you will note that it was ANB in his reply #15 who tried to start the flamewar with the ad hominems.
You will notice that I have been very civil with my views.
I don't buy the victimology of drug dealers and their kin. They are scum who sell poison, it's as simple as that. If it were up to me, major drug dealers would be executed....... YUP! Blame dad for her death. You traffic in poison and your life just might get complicated and painful.
