Right. And I have some prime real estate for sale 40 miles west of Miami.

Bush was dead set against allowing armed pilots until it became obvious it was a popular idea with many voters. Ashcroft made his famous statement about the 2nd A protecting an individual right to arms, but his statement means zilch if he doesn't reign in his ATF thugs. We all sit around feeling good about what he SAID, while his JBTs go along their merry way harrassing honest gun owners and dealers as usual. Note that the his Justice Department lawyers in the Emerson case insisted that private citizens have no constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

During the 2000 campaign Bush stated that he supported the "assault weapon" ban. Anyone who thinks he is a true believer in the 2ndA is in for a rude awakening when he signs the extention the AWB next year.

And don't hit me with that tired old Bushbot question, "would you rather have Gore in the WH?" That seems to be the standard response from Bushbots anytime it's pointed out that Bush isn't the second coming of Christ. No, I don't want Gore or any other Democrat in the WH now or ever, that's why I held my nose and voted for Bush. Given the only alternative, I will no doubt vote for him next time. But I won't be under any illusion that I'm voting for a true conservative who would expend some of his political capital defending the RKBA.

It's going to be interesting to see if there will be 10,000 or 1,000 or 100 if the frogs are boiled slowly enough.

That's why I start my novel with a shocking massacre in FedEx stadium which takes place in front of dozens of congressmen. 100 die from the bullets, and 1,000s die in the panic stampede, and the following Monday, after the president's national address, congress outlaws all semi auto rifles with a one week turn in period.

This "fast forwarding" or kick starting of history provides a shock and a break point for those who believe (correctly) that the stadium massacre was a setup. This sets the ground for an immediate armed resistance, a small scale dirty civil war.

If OTOH, we spend another generation turning the water up a degree a year, I think we will all boil without ever lifting a hand to resist.

"Unintended Consequences", a good and necessary read for times like these.

"Bush was dead set against allowing armed pilots..."

Nonsense. Sure, the press kept saying that Bush was against it, but Bush NEVER said, nor can you find a single such quote, that he was against it.

What you will find if you have an honest mind is that Bush FIRED the only person in his administration who was against it, and then Bush signed it into law.

That also made it GWB's SECOND such pro-gun legislation. The first legislation authorized 5,000 pilots to be eligible to arm themselves pending training and certification by the DOT. The one person at DOT who opposed letting any of the pilots get certified got fired by Bush, and Congress then passed a SECOND bill which allowed for arming ALL pilots.

You know, for all the claims of the anti-Bushes that Bush is anti-gun, he's signed TWO pro-gun pieces of legislation and he hasn't vetoed ANY pro-gun legislation. GWB has also informed the Supreme Court that the 2nd Amendment protects and INDIVIDUAL'S right to keep and bear arms.

Spin that fact all you want, but it's a pro-gun position and it is inarguably superior to continuing the previous policy of the federal government.

"Critics also accuse Mineta of running a department that's in disarray. Last week, he fired TSA chief John Magaw.

CBS News Correspondent Bob Orr reports Mineta also hinted at a possible flip-flop on arming pilots. With support in Congress for guns in the cockpit, the transportation chief said his department will reconsider its opposition."

Gee, Magaw [the real opposition to arming pilots] gets fired and suddenly Mineta has a change of heart.

Funny how things work like that...

The name is going to be "Enemies Foreign And Domestic", and it will be available soon I hope!

EFAD refers to part of the oath that the military and police have taken for 200 years to defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC.

Such as these gun gestapo goons and the polidiots who give them their orders.

A CCW only tells them where to go to pick up your weapons. "...[S]hall not be infringed" tells me the founders didn't even want FedGov or the States to KNOW who was armed and who wasn't. It's none of their business who owns WHAT!

I would still settle for a moderate that knows how to read a simple sentence.

Oh sure. As if the judicial nominations process isn't tough enough as it is I suppose you want to make reading skills a litmus test now.

Sayyyyyyy, wait a minute. That would mean liberal nominees would all fail... Doh! Nevermind.

We have to wait until at least one lib on the court retires and Bush replaces them. America legislators have already given $30 BILLION DOLLARS TO THE UNITED NATIONS. What have we received in return? Every country in the world hates us but still has the balls to ask us for money, technology and defense. The UN wants to tax our 401's, bank accounts and paychecks to the tune of $400 billion dollars so they can literally govern the world, America included. Has Bush told the UN to go piss up a tree where it comes to our money? NO he hasn't. He makes sure our "dues" are paid on time like a good little boy.

What ever makes you think that the SCOTUS will even hear anything about the 2nd Amendment. There has been one instance after another where the citizens have had good reason to bring a case before them for the supposed 2nd Amendment rights we have and it has not been done. Why, perhaps because the attorneys know what the true decision will be. WAR in America from the old cusses like you and me overthrowing the Progressive Communists, oops I meant Democrats and Rino's.

Wait 20 years and we'll be too old to do anything but take another pain pill. The recoil from a .22 will be too painful for us to bear while the rest of the populations grins and bears it thinking the government is supposed to take away OUR RIGHTS.

I have waited since '68 for a Supreme Court ruling. I'm going to wait until one or two lib Supreme Court Justices are replaced. After that, I'm going to find out who in the NRA, SAF, JPFO or CCRKBA is willing to have a test case.
