I hadn't heard about that one. What is it going to be, a scholarship fund for children of perverts?
One of the sites, the Nudism Hall of Shame, actually names pedophiles who have been known to frequent these places.
Out of curiosity, I looked at this site.
Just fwiw -- which is nothing -- I really don't know that I agree with this purported connection between nudism, swinging, and pedophilia.
My experience: A former GF and I used to sometimes go to a pay-to-enter nekkid beach. Over the course of several years, we probably went there maybe 30 times. In addition to that, we also one time took an introductory tour of a membership-based nudist colony.
Now, I will grant you that this not much experience as these things go. It certainly doesn't qualify as a statistical study. Still, at least, this is a subject where I do have a bit of personal experience.
In all instances, there seemed to be a nearly Puritanical attitude about sexual contact. The people who ran these places made it very clear on entry that there was to be none of that. Nor did I ever observe any. Nor were we ever approached inappropriately by anyone. Nor do I recall ever seeing anyone who seemed to be leering at the few children who were there.
Yes, there would be the occasional group of teen-aged boys who obviously wanted to see what a naked female looked like. They almost always -- probably literally always -- felt like the fools they were and left within about a half hour. They never caused any problems.
For the most part, the people who went to these places kept to themselves even more, I would say, than do people at regular beaches and parks. Parents were every bit as attentive of their children. I never once saw an unattended child running around. I never once saw anybody who looked like a pervert.
All-in-all, believe it or not, there was much less sexual content at the nekkid beach than there was at the main beach where we lived. At the latter, you could see all kinds of things. Girls with thongs up their backsides. People who were obviously "on the make", et cetera. If you looked around, you could see various acts of sexual congress taking place. All kinds of weirdos would hang around. Dirty old men, obvious homosexuals, and undoubtedly potential child molesters.
If you wanted to just go the beach and not get involved with the social scene, the nekkid beach was a far more comfortable place to go. Some people didn't take all their clothes off, but that was their business.
In talking with other folks who have done this sort of thing, it seems that the standard joke / serious theory is that, at first anyway, the men tend to look at the other men, and the women tend to look at the other women. Not because they're gay, but because they are comparing themselves to members of their same sex. "Am I too big here? Am I too small there?" Things like that.
Then, after a few visits, you simply stop worrying about that. There are other people who are bigger and smaller in every category, and nobody really gives a sh*t one way or the other. We all have the bodies we have. Move on.
If you wanted to find a pervert, the nekkid beach or that nudist club would probably have been the last place to go. It would have been far easier to find one hanging around in the children's department at the local department store. There just weren't any. Not that I could see, anyhow, and I did look around for that sort of thing. There was none of that. Like I said, people kept to themselves.
Now then, that said, in all good conscience I should add that this same GF and I once went to a swing club. We didn't "swap" with anyone -- cooties, big time -- but we wanted to see what it was like. It wasn't very nice, but it was certainly unusual.
So, perhaps there is some connection there. It could be that people who are willing to do A are also more likely to do B. Risk-takers, maybe. I never connected the two myself, but perhaps there is a link there.
Perverts? I really don't think so. Even at the swing club, there was a certain established ethic that was made clear and enforced with a passion. It wasn't like you could just go there and do anything. There were definite rules.
A child molester would not have been welcome in either of those environments. The people at those places would not have merely ostracized him, they would have done some Detriot-style street justice to him. The rules you agree to when you go in those places are not taken to be jokes by majority of the people who enter them. They are the rules, and you do not break them.
A child molester would be much happier at the local Mervyns.
I'm pretty sure they didn't care. LE made a big deal out of it though.
You argued with yourself. That is strange. But not my theory. Just the facts, ma'am, just the facts.
