Concern is growing in Irish universities over a high rate of refusal of study visas to students in Gaza who are due to take up college scholarships in Ireland this September.
RTÉ News understands that upwards of 20 Gazan students, who have all been accepted onto fully funded scholarships for third-level courses, have had their visa applications turned down by Irish immigration authorities. Others are awaiting outcomes.
Sources within the universities say the refusal rate this year is in marked contrast to last year, when more than 80 Gazan students were granted visas and left Gaza in an evacuation organized by the Irish Government.
The Department of Justice has declined to give a breakdown of applications coming from Gaza. […]
In rejection letters sent to two different students in Gaza and seen by RTÉ News, many of the refusal reasons are identical.
Both cite “insufficient evidence of strong obligations to return to your home country”.
They state that the applicant “has not sufficiently explained … gaps in their education/employment career”. …

You’ve got to let in a certain number of people who want to kill you. To refuse is rassist.
So these people in Gaza are living in poverty and being killed by Israel every day. But somehow they have been able to attend elementary through high school and now are able to be admitted to an Irish university. And they have the money to pay for the application and with scholarships have money for tuition.
That’s better than all the prisoners taken from Israel. None of them lived long enough to be able to even go to school.

B.S....people of Gaza voted for and supported HAMAS’ attack on Israel in 2023.
They deserve more destruction than Israel is hitting them with.
By the way, Israel is not killing these poor little diddums every day. When a HAMAS terrorist pops up out of a tunnel, he gets hit.
THAT is the reality there on the ground.
There seems to be an epidemic in Ireland of dumbassitis. I’m afraid it will only be cured when enough native Irish are murdered by “poor Gazans”.
It seems you missed the point of my post. I was trying to point out that the Gaza kids, who are allegedly getting killed every day, they get to go to college and the Israel kids didn’t get to live.

The world wants to see HAMAS/PLO/Al-Qaida/Islamic Jihad/PFLP/Hezbollah be excused for mass murder for generations.
Israel is vilified for defending itself and some day when the Muslim hoards overrun Paris, London, Malmo, Stockholm, Madrid, Lisbon, the Hague, Berlin and the rest of Western Europe, they may ask the Israelis for military support to oust them.
By then, it will be too late.
