If that kind of patient refusal is becoming a common problem, I’m surprised the hospitals haven’t yet collectively decided to just lie about it, say:
“Sir, there is no way of knowing if someone has taken the Vaxes just by examining donations provided.
Different donor blood is now all mixed up together.
Separated by blood type, of course, but otherwise all mixed up from different donors. Sorry ‘bout that. I thought everyone knew this already!”

That is what they told me when I went in for spinal surgery. I never did sign anything and have never had the vax.
I think they’re referring to patients insisting upon autologous or directed blood donations, not pints from a blood bank.
That is what they told my wife when she had her breast cancer surgery. She specifically asked for blood from people who had not taken the Covid shot. We didn’t. And they told her they had no way of knowing what donors had or had not had the vaccine.
