Any reflections on the two-year hiatus between "complaint" in 2018, and "criminal charges" in 2020? One would think the criminal investigation would have ensued "toute suite!"

In this day and age of rape kits and DNA evidence and forensic science, something seems missing in the story.

Could it be that the French turn a blind eye to such things when prominent men are involved? Seems to be the case in America.
