European rearmament is going to turn the world upside down
Daily Telegraph via Yahoo News ^ | Tue, March 4, 2025 at 7:50 AM EST | Ambrose Evans-Pritchard

It has taken three years, but Europe is at last putting its collective economy on an industrial war footing. The sums of money are eye-watering. […]

“It is becoming obvious to everybody that defense spending is the way to offset job losses in the car industry,” said Holger Schmieding, the chief economist at Berenberg Bank. […]

If enacted on anything close to this scale, such a high-octane blast of military Keynesianism will entirely change the economic and geopolitical shape of the world. It is the coming boom in Europe that we should all be betting on.

Bavaria’s premier Markus Söder is the weather-vane of our times, leading the call for a full-blown revival of German military power along with a joint nuclear deterrent in concert with France and the UK.

“We need a drone force of 100,000 drones, 800 new tanks, 2,000 Patriot missiles and 1,000 Taurus just for Germany as a protective shield like the ‘Iron Dome’. Only the strong will be taken seriously,” he said. […]

The coalition of the willing will have to rearm mostly outside the EU structure given the vetoes of Hungary and the Russophile bloc.

Joint debt issuance is needed to shield high-debt states from a bond market attack but this can be done through a new agency akin to development banks, and should include the UK, Norway and Canada. …

These lunatics will either bankrupt themselves or eventually start a war that they will regret. The article is breathless with idiocy. America should be nowhere near this.

Catch up to whom, and for what purpose?

No, they are actually not doing what Trump told them to do. They intend to arm for themselves. Again, they’re an anti-US union of nations.

Pax Americana wasn’t going to last forever.

The Euro elites have always intended the latter, even though they think they won’t regret it.

If this were the case why don’t we all just send ourselves to prosperity?

“EU itself is based on hatred of the USA as it is.”

This is dumb. The EU staff is vaguely anti-American in emotional commitment, because the bureaucracy that runs things like the EU all come from vaguely leftish colleges. You see the same now in the US Federal bureaucracy. The US Feds may hate you much worse.

But the EU? Here we are talking of many millions of people.

2000 Patriot missiles?

About the last thing we should do is re-arm the EU. Especially at the moment they are venomously anti-USA, pushing for war with Russia, flooding in rapey and stabby moslems and Africans that have never seen a toilet.

We should be pushing for European disarmament. The Uk, France, Germany and Sweden are moslem nations now.
Any weapons we sell them will be in the hands of Haji Allu Akbar Mohammed soon.

“They intend to arm for themselves.”

2000 Patriot are really good news. Patriot is a great DEFENSIVE system. One day the US or Taiwan may want to borrow from those stocks.

They had a decrepit, dysfunctional socialist society that couldn't produce efficiently before Nordstream II blew up. This is gonna be fun watching them try to get their house in order.

The reality is the "Europe" is such a big tent, with so many competing factions, that if the bureaucrats in Brussels ever lose control, they'll be at each others' throats with any weapons they manage to produce.

“There won’t be a Pax Europa.”

There has been for 80 years. And there are absolutely no controversies in intra European relations that COULD create a war.

Consider South America. There is no war there for the same reasons. Paraguay is not arming itself against Brazil, because there is nothing to fight about.

“so many competing factions”

There aren’t really. They don’t compete very much at all.

European women are on a birthing strike, so there will be no troops not named “mohammed” by the time they need trigger pullers.

“A lot of the liberals in Europe including the UK seem hellbent on starting a war with Russia.”

It is nothing but a distraction for the little people who are sick and tired of the invited muslim and African invasion of western Europe.

European rearmament is not going to happen. Maybe after the total collapse of the European welfare state some surviving men will re-arm with rocks and sticks.
