Former President Donald Trump recently reissued his loyalty test to religious Americans, declaring that he can best protect their freedoms while preemptively blaming members of certain faiths should he lose the presidential election in November.
Jews and Catholics can vote for him and ace the test, but those who don’t, he says, “need their head examined.” If he loses, Trump added, “Jewish people would have a lot to do with the loss.”
Among the Jewish leaders appalled at Trump’s remarks was Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism — an umbrella group for more than 800 Reform synagogues in North America.
“Your words preemptively blaming Jews for your potential election loss is of a piece with millennia of antisemitic lies about Jewish power,” Jacobs said in a social media post. “It puts a target on American Jews. And it makes you an ally not to our vulnerable community but to those who wish us harm. Stop.” […]
Matthew Boedy, who studies religious rhetoric as a professor at the University of North Georgia, said Trump has adopted spiritual warfare rhetoric, which is commonplace in certain Christian circles.
“Those who gave him that rhetoric saw Satan or evil as the enemy. Now that enemy is anyone — Jew, Christian, Muslim — who stands in his way,” Boedy said via email, calling it dangerous to democracy and religion. …

BTTT
what is the context that changes the meaning of these words?
“If he loses, Trump added, “Jewish people would have a lot to do with the loss.”
It sounds a lot like when Biden told blacks that if they don’t vote for him, then they ain’t black. He also called Schumer a Palestinian which I thought was wrong.
I understand where he was coming from but if I were a liberal Jew who didn’t have 100% loyalty to Israel, then I would find it offensive.
This is ridiculous. Jews see anti semitism behind every blade of grass. Not all political speech is anti semitic and aimed at them. I know Jews think they are the center of the universe but get real.
What a pearl clutching thread....
This is ridiculous. There is NOTHING anti Semitic about that.
no, not ridiculous.
This is clear as a bell:
“If he loses, Trump added, “Jewish people would have a lot to do with the loss.”
Trump has Jewish family members, did you know that? Are you calling Trump an anti semite? If that is the case then SAY IT CLEARLY
Fact: Trump chose to single out Jews.
Meanwhile, I just found this chart:
Dems are the Party of:
Amnesty
Abortion
Atheism
“Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism ... “Your words preemptively blaming Jews for your potential election loss is of a piece with millennia of antisemitic lies about Jewish power,” Jacobs said in a social media post. “It puts a target on American Jews. Lighten up, Francis. Trump was just pointing out that in a very close election every vote counts. And you will live to regret it if an anti-religious candidate like CommieLa becomes president. Look past your fidelity to leftism and do the right thing - vote for Trump.
He was talking about an important voting bloc and if Jews decide to stick with the anti-religious Harris, they will have a lot to do with Harris defeating him.
You sound like the typical anyone-but-Trump RINO.
Calling it a “loyalty test”.
Quite frankly, after the democrats OPEN support for Hamas, any of them voting for democrats are utter fools...
I read yesterday that 56% of NY Jews plan to vote Trump. Obviously, they know Trump loves Israel and Jews.
