Yes.
Even if there is some sound ordinance curfew for the neighborhood, which may well be the case, this was handled improperly. Kind of strange otherwise for the cops to be on hand so soon. I wonder if someone in the neighborhood lodged a complaint.
Mississippi Queen?
The police wanted everyone to start leaving that area, sincevthe game was over. They asked the two band directors to stop playing, so crowds would be more likely to disperse.
The first band director quickly complied, telling his band to stop playing and prepare to go.
The second band director, for his own reasons, refused to comply, telling his band to keep going strong. Police had to take control, then this idiot began interfering, to the point they had to taze him just to stop the nonsense.
His ego got in the way of his logic.
Poor example of leadership, of cooperation with police in front of all these teens.
When my oldest was in his Middle school band, they were so bad that they all needed tasered to make it stop!
Sounded like a moose mating call. My youngest cried and stuck his fingers in his ear.
Alabama has a law that music has to stop after a football game ends?
I'm going to work on the idea that the stadium is supposed to be cleared within a timeframe after the game is over, and the story does not go into that; who decided how long after the game is over is the stadium supposed to be empty, and why.
I also didn't see whether this was a dedicated stadium next to the high school, or someplace like Hanson Field in Chicago, which was used by many schools across the area because not every high school has its own football field.
Based on what is actually written in the story, staying later to play band music all seems harmless. But it reads one-sided.
Its Alabama. Full.stop. 😏
Laws are optional in America now silly wabbit.
The day the music died
The day the music died
That was BAD. Need a lot more information.

“... police were trying to clear out the stadium ...”
-
I don’t recall that ever happening at
any high school football game that I ever attended.
I assume they were playing and marching on the field ... why would anyone even care. Maybe the police were offended when the band started playing “When the fools come marching in...”.
From the article: “Lisa Lawrence added: ;sickens me that this happened. all the videos I’ve seen so far basically just show the cops lied...and I do know Johnny personally...”
And:
“’This playing after the game is very common in the south...either because field time was not given at halftime for show performance, and/or as “battle of the bands” send off.’”
John Milner said it’s been going downhill ever since
Insurrection! Just like J6!

I think they’re trying to avoid tense, potentially lethal, situations by dispersing contentious opponents.
