Yes I did, but my little Sis ended up preggers from her boyfriend a few months later… he was a kid we all grew up with… She married at 17…had my God son a few months later…Christmas eve….we lost him when he was 26 years old in a purported car accident. He was an amazing young man in a dysfunctional environment. The sadness and sorrow such as this is in every family. Always pray for his soul.
She was a good friend, but went the other way..kind of left wing crazy… so I have no connection to her now. Love to her always and prayers.

I worked with a few young guys that were so obviously engaging in this behavior and I always wanted to tell them to back off before they get trapped in the friend zone.
I see your point but at least she is able to admit that women like proper attention from men. Plenty of women are only into other women or cats.

My advice to young men is that women tend to make snap decisions on whether they are interested, which they are unlikely to reverse.
The strategy then is to cast the net wide, meet lots of girls, and be very alert to signs of interest. Meanwhile work on yourself (hit the gym, read some good books, etc).
Don’t marry a girl because you’re sure you love her. Marry a girl because you are sure SHE loves YOU, and she demonstrates it by making an effort to make you happy.

Finding a sane young woman today is a rare find. If I was a ever to be looking for a mate again, I’d very likely look overseas.
Stupid word but... I can relate to it in the construction/trades field. Many of times noticed the “Simp” actions around the boss when he comes walking thru... To the point of ridiculous!!

Yes. Most of the nasty remarks on here suggest to me that the "gentlemen" of Free Republic just leapt on another opportunity to sneer at women. Had they read the article, they'd see she's actually advocating that men NOT be doormats to women. But they don't read the article. They see the headline, and turn Sith Lord instantly.

You did the right thing.
My husband and I dated about 3 weeks before he started introducing me as his girlfriend. I took that as a sign that he considered us exclusive (although we never formally discussed it) and I followed suit.
I knew after 60 seconds that I was attracted to him, after 15 minutes that he was smart (not just eye candy), after 3 months that I could marry him, after 6 months that I wanted to marry him, after 9 months that I would make it my mission to marry him.
When it’s right, you know.
Thankfully, he felt the same way about me.
We’ve been together 32 years.
