Those things are not worth six dollars.
According to a CPI index I found online, 49 cents in 1967 is equivalent to 3.98 today. So at over 6 bucks the price is far higher than the rate of inflation over the years would suggest.
Of course there are other factors. Taxes and other costs of doing business may be much higher than decades ago.
