Why is Trump the most impervious U.S. president in history? (Canadian columnist pulls hair out)
Maclean's ^ | October 10, 2018 | Scott Gilmore

Scott Gilmore: America’s president is a liar and fraudster whose scandals, which would have destroyed any politician before him, mean nothing

Last week the New York Times concluded an 18-month investigation with a front-page story that detailed hundreds of millions of dollars of tax fraud committed by the President of the United States. The magnitude of the scandal was unprecedented—no other American politician in history has ever been accused of a crime of this scope. According to financial records obtained by the newspaper, the president and his family illegally enriched themselves by hundreds of millions of dollars. And, making it worse, some of this money was obtained by defrauding lower-income tenants.

There is no question that if any president from Roosevelt to Obama had been accused of this, it would have plunged their administrations into crises, and likely ended their political careers.

And yet, in the Trump era, within 24 hours we had mostly forgotten about this scandal. The White House called it false and then refused to answer any more questions. Newspapers and newscasts turned to other stories. The social media dust storm blew off into another direction. Democratic politicians began to bark up different trees.

While Ronald Reagan was known as the Teflon President, Donald Trump is an entirely different league. Is it possible he is the most impervious, the most unassailable, or the strongest president in living memory?(continued)

“PDJT is the “Kevlar President.”

Kevlar is a protective material which deflects projectiles & prevents injury. Kevlar saves lives; I wore one for years in the Army.

Another reason to like Pres. Trump!

Because he’s not easily bullied.

Attacking him with a constant barrage of lies is like hitting him with pool noodles...”nerf” weapons don’t work.

“Because he’s one the side of the citizens and the rule law.

First one in a long time.”

Bingo on that. The American taxpayer sees this and respects Trump for not selling us out as several of the last Presidents have.

The scandal when a New York Times article smears someone is that of the "Times"--never their victim. The "Times" has long acted as a hatchet force for the Left--an enforcer of the Nazi like bullying of anyone who dares defy the Left's PC mandate, intended to silence those who dare to defend the American tradition.

The Times showed its true stripes, once again, in embracing the Feminist Hatred For Judge Kavanaugh.

I have long viewed them as a literary stand in for all that is unholy on the Left.

A few thoughts:
1. hes a liar- well yes, he loves to embellish, this makes him a prototypical politician. Thats how you play the game.
2. Most of the “scandals” are heresay or pure fiction or trivial BS that normal folks can live with.
3. He is winning. Unlike the prototypical politician...Trump has kept almost every single promise he made during his campaign. Simple.

Will ye look at this, now! Irish pollies & Irish scribes have lately been hitting the Jameson’s just a wee bit, surely. `Tis a shame, don’t ye know.

That’s all right, laddies; soon the Muslims will be ruling the roost and the temptation of alcohol will no longer trouble you. Erin go Baghdad, the lot of ye!

Rather, he should be the Gore-Tex President. He can breathe and speak out, but nothing makes it’s way in.

Plus, Senator Chris Coons Stepfather family were the founders of Gore-Tex.

Make sure to tick him off more every time he thinks of Trump.

Simple: Trump has been through the ups and downs of the business world and he used that very experience to out-maneuver the political establishment at every turn.

I give zero feks to what these losers accuse. If Trump were what is alleged, I would be the first to say get rid of him. I will say Obama was the ultimate “teflon” pResident in the White Kenyan Hut. Obama,Clinton,Holder,Kerry ,and the list goes on, should all be in prison for verifiable and documented high crimes, felonies and treason. The GOP NEVER had the guts to do anything and the media are whores.

“If any of the presidents from Roosevelt to Obama had been accused blah blah ...”

Umm, Clinton in the Oval Office?

George W Bush accused of covering up aspects of 9-11?

Obama accused of being ineligible, a Russian dupe, an idiot?

Carter accused of being asleep at the switch?

Ford, well let’s cut that guy a break ...

Nixon, where to begin?

LBJ, accused of having JFK murdered?

JFK, hundreds of mistresses?

Eisenhower, okay ya got me there.

The column makes no sense, really, dude, even by Canadian standards.
