While I think she would be one of the easier candidates to beat, the consequence of a Hillary victory would be devastating to the republic. So I would prefer to not have her run, for that reason alone.

Nixon might come to mind, he lost in 1960 and then again in 1962 running for Governor in California. Not sure that is a good example because Nixon actively campaigned for Republican candidates in 1964 and 1966 and helped get a lot of people elected. I don’t see Hillary doing that kind of work.
She is Radioactive as a political candidate, also will the donors give that kind of money to her again and then age for her will kick in, she will be 73 or so.

But your reply assumes that the Dems get to choose who they pick as the nominee. The reality is that the biggest Dem crook blackmails the super-delegates into supporting their bid. If Hillary refuses to let go, then the only thing they can hope for is for Trump to destroy her in the court of law before 2020. But if he does that, the Dems will rejoice: 1) Trump solves their problem of how to rid themselves of the Clintons, and 2) they can make a martyr of her to further beat up on Trump.
