We dont live in a racially neutral society: from police officers to headteachers, all the gatekeepers in my life have been white. Yet we do have to acknowledge those who feel they lose out to ethnic minorities
Most white people dont see themselves as racist. They can comfortably reel off a list of people of colour they know, like, or maybe even love. They cant think of a time when theyve negatively discriminated against someone on the grounds of their race. And they dont see, in a concrete way, how their own race has positively affected them.
More than that, when people imagine a racist, they probably envisage a white skinhead sat in a pub ready to start a fight with the first black or brown person who walks through the door. Thats a convenient picture to conjure up its pretty easy to comfort yourself that youre nothing at all like that awful bastard.
In fact, though, everyone of whatever colour is racist. As part of a TV documentary Ive been working on, Ive seen how our brains have a tendency to automatically associate our own race with good and other races with bad, whoever we are....

I asked a shipmate where the word honky came from. He said that blacks are used to hearing other blacks talk, with lower pitched voices and more slowly than whites. So, to them, whites sound high pitched and rapid. Like a goose honking. Now that I think about it, that doesn’t make a lost of sense, but it worked at the time.
Different cases.
Why drag that up now?
I’m a grinner
I’m a lover
And I’m a sinner
The great thing about racial, ethnic, and nationality differences is that a loving God is in control of these things. He is our Creator and the one who determines where and when each of us is brought into this world.
Those who have been privileged to be born into the United States should be very grateful for our freedoms and opportunities to prosper. A large percentage of the world, still to this day, does not enjoy these freedoms and opportunities, and would give anything to be here.
Black Americans should thank God for letting them be descendants of slaves which led to them being born here rather than Africa where slavery still exists. They should be grateful for not being born into a Muslim home in a Muslim nation where freedom of religion does not exist. Same with China, North Korea, and many places in the world.
God let His chosen people, Israel, be enslaved so that He could accomplish His own will and purposes. He let His servant Joseph be sold by his brothers into slavery, let him go to prison based on false accusations and for doing the right thing, and he was forgotten there in prison. But God then transformed these circumstances to raise Joseph up to be one of the most powerful rulers on earth. He used Joseph to rescue his own family from famine, along with many others. And most of all, God’s name was glorified because of what He did through Joseph’s faith and obedience.
A large percentage of “blacks” in the US are descendants of slaves AND slave owners. Should they be bitter at their own foreparents? Some blacks—men like Obama—are not descendants of slaves but of slave traders. Are these men who deserve special sympathy because of slavery? Is skin color the sole determination of guilt and innocence? How about the majority of whites who never owned slaves? How about whites who were slaves themselves? How about whites who were poor sharecroppers, struggling just like everyone else to survive? How about whites who died fighting to free slaves? How about the fatherless children of these men?
Lies are keeping black people trapped in a different kind of slavery today. Jesus taught that the truth will set you free.
Lesson learned
It makes more sense than what I heard. Something about honking a car horn.
Don’t forget those tax slaves who spend 40-50% of their working hours supporting the welfare state.
