We dont live in a racially neutral society: from police officers to headteachers, all the gatekeepers in my life have been white. Yet we do have to acknowledge those who feel they lose out to ethnic minorities
Most white people dont see themselves as racist. They can comfortably reel off a list of people of colour they know, like, or maybe even love. They cant think of a time when theyve negatively discriminated against someone on the grounds of their race. And they dont see, in a concrete way, how their own race has positively affected them.
More than that, when people imagine a racist, they probably envisage a white skinhead sat in a pub ready to start a fight with the first black or brown person who walks through the door. Thats a convenient picture to conjure up its pretty easy to comfort yourself that youre nothing at all like that awful bastard.
In fact, though, everyone of whatever colour is racist. As part of a TV documentary Ive been working on, Ive seen how our brains have a tendency to automatically associate our own race with good and other races with bad, whoever we are....

gosh I wish the gate keepers were ANY color than white
same here - it’s never ending.
W.C. is that you?
Ahhh Yes....
Identity politics is for morons.
=running away=
I wonder if it smells as bad as Durrian?
If I am called a “racist,” I will consider that a fighting word, and probably get into a fight, even though I don’t like to fight.
I was called a “honky” once by a guy of the Mexican persuasion, and I asked him, nicely, not ever call me a “honky” again.
He, of course, did, and I told him that if he ever called me a “honky” again, I was going to knock him on his ass.
A few weeks later, he did, and I did.
He never called me a “honky” again!
I guess that what I am saying is that there are “fighting words.” People HAVE to understand that the “FReedom of speech” clause of the US Constitution DOES NOT give a person the right to mouth off and not have to suffer the consequences of said mouthing off!
So I guess “cracker” is out of the question.
She is actually close to something.
Yes, everyone is racist, as she defines racism.
And if *everyone* is racist, it does not matter, because we cannot escape it.
If you are not willing to fit into Western civilization, and meet the requirements, which are broad, wide open, and welcoming, compared to all others.
Too Bad.
Bammy rejects his mulatto self and all the White Privilege he had growing up with his jomama and Grammar.
No comparison. I’ve been on a bus full of people who just had kimchi for breakfast but Durrian is much worse.
We’ll always be tribal, it’s hard-wired into our brains.
Being aware of race does not equal racism. We are all aware of gender, but that doesn’t mean we are all sexist.
Are there chocolate crackers?
And to translate, ‘i am bad but you are badder so only you have to stop being bad. I do not.’
This is liberal logic.
JoMa
Since we crackers never got our own hyphenated American moniker, we should go with Racist-American.
And remember, diversity is our strength. Don't hate on my community.
Skin color or Race?
These days no one defines there terms. There is no objectivity, only “feelings”.
I hear all cis-white men are sexist. You haven't been paying attention.
these / their
This entire premise should be rejected outright and whomever spouts this race baiting nonsense should be told to go to hell where they belong.
Of course our own race affects how we view the world but that doesn’t make anyone a racist or privileged; it’s just a fact of life.
