Women's suffrage began at least as far back as the early 18th century in England - it is one of the pillars of the greatness of western civilization. Mary Wollstonecraft, Fanny Kemble, John Stuart Mill, etc. America gave us Susan B. Anthony - an abolitionist and anti-abortion activist.

That it devolved into decadence in the late 20th century and early 21st is typical of all great social movements but does not negate its storied achievements. (Much like the great civil rights movement of the mid-20th century.) Without it we'd be no better than muzzies.
