Pamela Anderson is speaking out against pornography.
This is a public hazard of unprecedented seriousness given how freely available, anonymously accessible and easily disseminated pornography is nowadays, she penned in a joint op-ed with Rabbi Shmuley Boteach in Thursdays Wall Street Journal.
The unlikely pair wrote the piece in the wake of Anthony Weiners latest sext scandal, in which he was caught sending a crotch shot in the presence of his young son.
There was a show on 20/20 or maybe 48 hours about John Holmes who was a porn star.
That world was about as debased, depraved and degraded as one could imagine. Just absolutely awful.
What have I been doing wrong?
I could ask the same.....
Yep. No matter how bad it is for society, you will never be rid of it if there is such a huge demand for it. If there is demand, there is profit, and if there is profit, the market will provide.
So, just like drugs, the only way we will be rid of it is to find a way to stem the demand.
The Playboy channel is. It’s all part of one company and the profit she brought to it was spread over all its divisions.
As a member of PETA, she also came out against present day domestic turkeys. She said that they were artificially bred with excessively large breasts that made it impossible to walk without stumbling. She did say that high heels would help them, though.
No. Really (except for the high heels part).
Was that channel on 35 years ago? Never saw it. I quit TV back then.
It may still be on. I’m not sure.
Years ago my girlfriend bought me a subscription to Playboy. Why? She liked the articles and cartoons and such. Me too. Playboy might be seen as pornographic if you are about 12y.o. Or if you have never seen a naked woman. Personally, I like women. Naked or not.
During that time was when Pam posed for Playboy. Twice. Fine specimen of the female form. Now? Well I don’t know. That was about 25 years ago or so.
The world may have known Pamela Anderson as the quintessential Baywatch babe, but her children had no idea that their mom was the Pamela Anderson until much later. The 48-year-olds sons, Brandon, 19, and Dylan, 17, with her ex-husband Tommy Lee, were unaware of their mothers fame growing up.
Despite visiting their mom on the set of Baywatch all the time, the actress tells PEOPLE they didnt get it cause they were so young.
They havent seen how hard Ive worked, she says. I built my whole life around them like their soccer games were in my contracts.
It wasnt until Andersons sons attended surf camp that they learned more about their mom.
After their first day at camp, They came up to me and they said, Mom, are you Pamela Anderson? And I said Yeah.
They were like, What is that? And ,Why are people saying these things? Are you Pamela Anderson for real? Like, what is going on?
Andersons reply? Well, yeah.
I thought the title said “Pubic Hazard.”
Never mind.
how funny, considering her co-writer
Pamela Anderson used to be pretty when she was on the tv show “Home Improvement” then Hugh Hefner and Hollywood got a hold of her and her face now looks like those you see on the billboards for strippers. Used hard.
I thought Pam died from Hep C. You mean she is still alive?
“the streaking craze of the early 1970s”
Wasn’t that hilarious? The ‘70s were fun times.
Well, there is redemption. Who knows what decisions she might’ve made recently.
Translation: I'm upset because men no longer have any interest in MY used-up body.
Early 70s, yes. Late 70s with the gas lines, double digit inflation and unemployment, not so much.
