I’m looking at the Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. the LG G3 to replace my old iPhone 4s. I can’t decide between the two. Must have changeable battery and expandable memory, which is why I’m not interested in the Galaxy S6.

Get a Samsung Galaxy 5 and you won’t look back. I’ve gone the Galaxy route and last year my employer gave me an iPhone 5.
I was astounded at how awkward and clunky the vaunted iPhone turned out to be. So many things you take for granted aren’t there. And they are difficult or impossible to add due to apple world being so authoritarian.

I honestly cannot understand how anyone sees it as superior. And though the 6 offers a bigger screen, the 5 that everyone swear was superior to every Samsung has an abysmally small screen.

Samsung is the way to go.

I have the S5 and LOVE IT!

Actually, we (my family) have three and no problems at all (since we bought them about a year ago).

Big screen and there is so much it can do. I am running 4 email accounts on it all simultaneously. A bunch of apps (all of which are free). You can't beat free.

Plus, at the time, it cost the same price as the LOW END (low memory) Iphone.

It has expandable memory (not so with the Iphone), the battery is replaceable (not so with the Iphone), and the apps are free (not so with the Iphone).

Huumm. Changeable battery narrows the choices. Have you thought about just using the booster packs?

I’ve had a G3 for 6 months - absolutely love it!

Higher screen resolution and a GREAT camera with laser focus. Fast speed in browsing, too.

Slimmer for easier handling and slipping into one’s pocket - and just more attractive aesthetics.

I’m running LP 5.01 on ATT.

VERY HIGHLY recommended!

And I kept my personal Samsung. So I see these two side by side. I think the only way apple seems so astounding is surfing from when it came out. Or people that have never known anything else.

Apple maps sucks. No swipe. etc,,,, quickly the conversation of apples superiority turns to “metal”, and feels nice. Oddly, the only way apple seems to do well is as a telephone. I find it is better of the two to talk on like an old fashioned phone. And it also charges much faster in my experience.

FYI: I recently had similar smartphone decision cross road.
Bought and tried iPhone 6 from Verizon.
Absolutely hated it’s limited user functionality, poor battery life, slow data speed.
However, it does take very good pictures (software color balance is unparalleled).
Verizon took it back, and I chose the Samsung S5 after comparing all other phones.

It is a Completely Fantastic smartphone!
2.7 times battery life of iphone.
Apps work perfect, Very fast on WiFi & 4G.
Sound quality, hands free call sound boost, video, notes, copy paste email synch reliability:
OUTSTANDING
Photos: very good.
Preloaded bloat ware wasn’t too bad.
Running fsecure and browsing with Firefox privacy security settings.
Love that it’s nearly waterproof, screen is strong, swap out batteries and memory card.
IMHO, you will Love the Samsung S5
Get it while Samsung still makes it.

I have a LG Optimus Pro 3. I love it. I’ll see ads for new phones hawking some new function then I check my LG to find it already has that function. LG and Samsung have NFC that allows Beaming (placing phones back to back to transfer info with one tap). IPhones do not have this feature.

Good luck with your decision.

I have the S4, wife has the S5 Note. They work great, good battery life and memory.

Iphone? I’d be more likely to by the Futurama version Eye-Phone. Mom said it best at the end of the episode when all of the mind-numbed fans of the product queued up and marched blindly to buy the next upgrade; “Dumb Bastards”.

LG G3
Buy at ebay at lower cost. Match the device model with the carrier you are using.
