I guess that I’m pretty old-school,but when I bring my M1A up to my shoulder-it feels like a real weapon,not a toy.

I have always enjoyed the walnut stock/steel combination better than plastic. The very first rifle I ever learned to shoot was my Gunnery Sergeant uncle’s M1 Garand. I was 11. Loved it so much that a Garand was the very first rifle I bought when I came of age to own. Still have it too.
I own a lot of vintage wood stocked guns, as well as modern stuff.
And I still enjoy lever guns as well; THE quintessential American firearm.
