No one is disputing that SUBUD in Indonesia fell right into the anthropological interests of Alice Dewey and Stanley Ann Dunham, but to try to connect that asian cult which is an offshoot of sufi-islam, through it's muslim founder, to the murder of a movie star and her friends in the US by the Manson gang, is what I describe as a 'mess of pottage'

B Dohrn made remarks favorable to the killing of Sharon Tate by the Manson family. I’ll source this commentary in a moment. Of course, B. Dohrn is Bill Ayers wife.

On a completely different note: the Unitarian church that Obama (or whatever his name is) went to Sunday school at in Hawaii, also took in U.S. military deserters recruited by the SDS, and gave sanctuary to draft dodgers. The SDS- the forerunner to The Weathermen, and... the Weather Underground. He (B. O.) was 11 at the time.

Wild.” She then proclaimed that the time had come to launch a war against “Amerikkka” (Weatherman always spelled “America” this way, to convey the group’s belief that the nation was ineradicably racist to its core). Toward this end, Dohrn advocated the formation of an even more radical “Weather Underground” cult to carry out covert terrorist activities rather than public acts of protest. By early 1970, her wish would be realized.

When by most accounts zero was in Indonesia, aged six. I’m quite conversant with what Bernadine Dohrn is reported to have said in connection with the Manson murders,but you need to get your timing straight. Zero didn’t meet up with Ayres until he was in his early twenties.

11 year olds might be impressionalbe as you say, but as zero was in Hawaii and Ayres was on the mainland in 1972, any impression Ayres might have made on zero was just that. ZERO.

If he went to the Unitarian Church Sunday School is something we have only that one shallow article to thank, and if, as has been reported, that church took in military deserters, the kid hadn’t even graduated from primary school yet. I’m not for making excuses for zero, but let’s keep our discussions somewhere near the chronological realm of possibilities, shall we?

The motive of the murders was to stimulate the “revolution” as prescribed by the weather underground. Manson and his followers thought the crime would be blamed on the blacks. Iirc there was even a disparaging comment made about how the blacks weren’t up to it so they had to start the revolution for them

The connection was of an indirect nature. I should have been clearer in what I meant to convey. I wasn’t saying Obama was sitting in one pew, and Billy was sitting across from him in another.

We learn at the feet of our parents/grandparents. They’re taking him to a church that is an underground railroad for military deserters and draft dodgers. The SDS is active in all of it. An osmosis of beliefs, values, ideology transpires.

Right, and Madelyn and Stanley Armour, who may have considered themselves progressives, certainly would have instilled their values in the child of whom they had been appointed guardians.
That doesn’t make zero a member of the Manson Gang. The influence of Ayres could not have commenced until after zero left Hawaii, he graduated from Punahou in 1979.

What do the Weather Underground, Bernadine Dohrn (Bill Ayers wife) and Manson have in common? The all shared the same philosophy in the “Black man” rising to overthrow an oppressive white, privileged culture and were willing to murder to achieve their goals. In the end, Manson failed and is spending the rest of his life in prison for his crimes but Dohrn, Ayers and a host of SDS/Weatherman Underground leaders were not punished, but succeeded in getting an African American elected to the White House. Bill Ayres achieved his ambitions, he was quoted as saying ‘one day we will have the White House’ - and it would now seem he has it, after finding the right tool:
