A producer at NBC recently decided to make a video called "Bodies in Motion", showing off Olympic athlete's bodies in various states of competition. Unfortunatley, the music production department chimed in, adding uber-creepy porn-like music to the clip.
Critics slammed the network for what seemed like the blatant sexualization of athletes competing for Olympic gold.
NBC promptly pulled the video, but left us wondering - What were they thinking?

Someone at NBC Apparently Approved This Creepy, Porny Video of Female Olympians.
Have you barfed yet today? Get thee to a drain of some kind before watching this video the pervs over at NBC have put together in order to show their appreciation for Olympic bodies of the 2012 London Games.

It’s the fault of: both former President Bush’s, Ronald Reagan, Rush Limbaugh, Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney, and man-made global warming! Glad to get THAT out of my system.
I was more bothered by NBC’s pro-gay piece profiling the Australian diver. Most sane people don’t give a damn if he’s queer yet NBC thought it necessary to tell the world.
Meh. I think we often way overreact to these things.
“Bodies in Motion” sounds like something I don’t want Mrs. MAexile finding on my computer.
I am wearing out my Tivo’s Fast forward button with this Olympic crappy NBC coverage. I zap EVERYTHING except the finals. Don’t give a damn about preliminary races and I don’t watch any athletes profiles or what they did in a prior olympics or trials or world meet etc.
Oh, fercrissakes. Next go-round they’ll all be wearing burqas.
Some folks have a high internal steam pressure.
McKayla is not impressed.
So “sprunger” is Swiss for breasts then?
I’m not giving yer blog any hits.

Gotta put her with Katrina man.
It is just self made controversy to try and make themselves news worthy. The MSM is dying and they are doing everything they can to hang on to life support.
NBC's coverage blows. Add the inescapable banner ads provided by Tivo and the entire thing has really been unenjoyable.
Why blame the network for the choices athletes make in their sportswear? It’s not like networks have never before made montages of athletes to music - it’s just been going on as long as I’ve watched sports.
Blame the athletes for the crotch high shorts. And freaking hugging each other and patting each others’ bottoms every damn play.
Post the entire article of your prescient thoughts" You should hit the dictionary. |
During today's coverage on NBC I fast forwarded for 30 minutes before they showed any footage at all. Then I saw it was 10 meter platform prelims so I fast forwarded until the "real" competition began.
The Shawn Johnson banner ad pops up every time I pause. I thought everyone was seeing it. I have a lifetime subscription so they know I can’t cancel. Maybe that’s it.
I’m trying out this Nook by Amazon. A friend’s father recently passed away and he gave it to me.
I know there is a spell checker in here somewhere but haven’t found the setting yet.
