Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.
But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.
And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.
And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.
That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.
Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

I understand pragmatism. I understand the theory that politics is the art of the possible. I once subscribed to the theory that the worst Republican is better than the best Democrat and that we must vote Republican to hold onto the majority, even if we have to vote for RINOs. I did my duty, held my nose and voted the RINO party line.
Then disaster struck. The Republican majority filled with RINOs turned out to be no better than the democrats and we quickly lost the majority as conservatives were turned off by their many betrayals and failure to even hold the line, much less cut!!
Those who wish to continue voting pragmatically may be my guest, but count me out. It’s a proven loser of a theory. And Karl Rove & Company can KMA about the art of the possible!! This is REBELLION!!

Mr. Robinson is our host. I learned as a young man to respect a host and I have done so since I began writing here. And in my opinion, he has been very gracious.
I have neither tried to convince anyone to vote for Mr. Romney. As stated, I was not very fond of him from the beginning. I found his flopping on salient, conservative issues disconcerting and frankly, still do.
Mr. Robinson has stated his position and I respect it.
Others on this thread- have gone to great lengths to not simply state their feelings, but to bash and demoralize an entire people due to their religious beliefs. The constant barrage is not foreign to me.
While Mr. Robinson stated his beliefs and left it at that, the others who have tried to bully and malign could learn a lot from his example.
I will continue to stand up and speak, which is my G*d given right.

The Bible has all kinds of verses discussing apostasy; NONE of which are a "universal (total) apostasy" -- And I've examined every single Biblical verse cited by the Lds church which is meant to "prove" such a complete apostasy.
Jeff, guy, it all comes down to whether you're going to honor the apostle Paul, or subtly bill him as a "false prophet" -- for he prophesied in Ephesians 3:21: to him [God] be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
The apostle Paul's prophesy here is that ALL generations of the Church would (and have) given God glory, for ever and ever!
Do you believe Ephesians 3:21 -- or not?
And if you do, and if the church was STILL giving glory to God, then, no, no total apostasy...which you know even the Lds technically don't adhere to that...given that they say the apostle John never died...and neither those "Nephite disciples." You don't hold the 'word of life'; you have hammers in your hand, beating people up who disagree with you. You're not humble, you're pompous and arrogant. You're not loving, you act with the same type of zealous hatred that an unbeliever acts. You're supposed to be as a light in the world, but you act as the darkness acts. I don't see Christian behaviors in many of you; I see no difference than liberal unbelievers.
And there friends, is a testimony of why this man will not vote for Mitt Romney without having to malign a faith.
It doesn’t matter how he feels about Mormons- there is plenty of reason not to support the Republican ticket without religious judgment.

I don’t know how you have missed 6 years of us giving our reasons for not voting for Romney.
Looking at your posts, you don’t spend much time in the conservative politics here, and almost zero in regards to Romney.
You don’t really seem to know freerepublic well at all, and you don’t even realize that so many of the posters that you are attacking here have been among the best in exposing Romney and have been doing it since at least 2006,and some for much longer.
