Sorry, that Scripture does not say submit yourselves to evildoers themselves, which is what Romney is. It’s because I fear God that I will not vote for him as this nation’s leader. We aren’t to submit to the government if it comes into conflict with God’s laws. Besides, Romney isn’t even in office, so how is voting for him submitting to the ordinance of man, as to a king or governor?
There are a lot of what-ifs in your post. I’ve prayed about this. I’ve asked God to confirm for me the right thing to do, and I believe I got the answer. Voting for an abortionist and homosexual lover would be going against God’s laws, so how you figure God could sanction that, I can’t imagine.
Finally-—and again-—no one is advocating sitting it out. Stop perpetuating this untruth, please.

Ok, I get it, but just to keep it all honest and to lift up a slight challenge to your statement. The Apostle Peter wrote this letter to, “God’s elect in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia.” At the time of this writing all these were provinces of ROME. They were under the rule of Caesar, and directly under the rule of Roman governors.
Now, according to history we know the Romans were not particularly fond of Jews or Christians. They felt as though they were obstinate in their insistance on believing in only ONE God. It was a belief they willing died for.
Even in the face of being persecuted for their faith the Apostle IS telling them that these Roman Rulers were ordained by God to rule.
Now, there is no doubt that these Roman rulers did not rule according to God’s standards, and yet the Apostle tells the Christians to submit to their rule.
How can this be if, according to you, we are NOT to submit if the government is in conflict with God’s law?
I believe the challenge for Christians is to work to discern God’s will for their country, and then, as good civic citizens help that purpose move forward.
You and I agree on following God’s direction.
