I've been around FR for a long time. I've never seen anything like this.
Anyone who dares criticize Palin (and I am a big supporter of hers) is derided as an idiot or a commie. Especially on the issue of "will she or won't she".
She's 100% right on the core issues, and the best retail politician of the 21st century so far, but her lack of resolution on the matter of a political race is damaging to her.
I think far more the she or her supporters realize.
Mariner, you've surely read the reasoning of many on this forum, that Palin is executing a well planned strategy with regard to the timing of her announcement. She doesn't lack resolution. She's simply unwilling to freely give away the element of surprise that she currently holds over every presumptive opponent (including the state-run media).
As someone with near 100% name recognition and broad grass roots support, there was nothing whatsoever to gain by her being involved in the early stages of the primary. She's saved hers and her supporters' time, energy, and campaign dollars during her 'hold out' period.
One can argue that we're now well past the 'early stage', and that it's time for her to step forward if she's going to do so. I tend to agree with that, but I'm an impatient Palin supporter, so...
Frankly, I trust her instincts on this. She's proven to have an above average level of savvy where it comes to politics, during her twenty year public service career. I'm only hoping that she steps in before the first scheduled primary filing date.
I don’t understand why everyone is in such a hurry for Palin to announce. What difference does it make when? People worry about the strangest things.
