Hi FRiends,
I have two brothers who I love very much, theyre young and libertarian Ron Paul supporters, sigh. We get along and Im hoping that one day theyll come back to conservatism, but they have bought into a theory that I dont think makes much sense:
Abe Lincoln was a dictator.
There are many websites dedicated to this nonsense you can Google "Abe Lincoln dictator" and get some weird stuff, if you want to check it out.
I need your help in busting this myth are there any books I can read on this subject to dispel this stuff? Do you know any of the arguments to combat this nonsense? Ie. Lincoln did not want to free the slaves.
Thanks for taking time out of your day to help me out, -Erod
“Google was invented so dumbass’s like yourself can feel smart.”
Wrong again! Google was invented so simpletons, such as yourself, would avoid sticking their foot in their mouth repeatedly.
“War president”? Where does the Constitution allow even a “war president” to suspend the Constitution??? The Constitution has no OFF Switch, not even during war. Our unalienable rights are exactly that!!
There is nothing more cowardly than a sissified , citified, damnedyankee that prides itself with Garbage_trucks.
To your post #1039:
That isn’t my point. Yes, USMC has the prerogative to set it’s own policy. My point is this email, if true, represents a perfect example of PC destroying our military and our nation. The Rebel flag is not a symbol of “hate”. It is a symbol of the Southern essence, our spirit. In order for the military to view it otherwise is simply due to PC pressure. I would add, the PC pressure originates from the few to subjugate the many to its beliefs.
Marines are prohibited from:
a. Tattoos or brands on the head and neck.
b. Sleeve Tatoos. A sleeve tattoo is a very large tattoo, or a collection of smaller tattoos, that covers or almost covers a person's entire arm or leg.
c. Half-sleeve or quarter sleeve tattoos that are visible to the eye when wearing standard PT Gear (T-shirt and shorts). A half-sleeve or quarter-sleeve tattoo is defined as a very large tattoo or collection of smaller tattoos that covers, or almost covers the entire portion of an army or leg above or below the elbow or knee.
d. Tattoos or brands that are prejudicial to good order, discipline and morale, or are of a nature to bring discredit upon the Marine Corps. These may include, but are not limited to, any tattoo that is sexist, racist, vulgar, anti-american, anti-social, gang related, or extremest group or organization related.
Paragraph (d) is pretty broad and if left to the discretion of the individual in charge then I could see the confederate flag included under the anti-American prohibition or the hate-group prohibition since the Klan links itself with it so frequently. But for the most part, if someone's stupid enough to get a tattoo then just because they chose the rebel flag shouldn't be a reason to keep them from joining the Yankee Marine Corps.
“You, Mr. Garbage_truck, are nothing than a bully who constantly insults ladies; for whom by the way, is your better.”
Thank you again, my kind FRiend:) Its always so nice to know gentlemen still exist.

Don’t go projecting your fears and delusions onto me
Fact is not projecting. Don't flatter yourself, I would never project my thoughts onto you, you are not worth it.
Oh look - idabooby has reached into his Big Box of Words.
Gold star for you!
“Yea, silly us for thinking that you were fully capable of taking care of yourself...lol”
You’re right, my ability to take care of myself isn’t one I have ever doubted however, my comment is a compliment to a gentleman. It really is nice to see such a thing still exists.
Idabilly - Will you please check your mail?
Enjoying your Socialist State? You little bag of puke
Guys like Betty Crockrr wouldn’t know a Republic if it bit them on the commerce clause...
Not as much as I’d like to, you festering pussbag...;)
Nope. You never heard me say any of that. But repeating accurately what others have said has never been your strong suit.
The South and the Confederacy made some bad choices. Taking Abe’s bait at Sumter was one of them. Just goes to show that those who are right do not always win.
Obviously a man at home in many languages. </sarcasm>
Ah, it's "bad choices," now, eh? I suppose next you'll say that they were turning their lives around, much like modern-day late rappers are always doing before their untimely deaths.
Lest we forget, though, their primary "bad choices" were to maintain a slave-based agrarian economy and then choosing to fight to keep and expand the institution of slavery.
Taking Abes bait at Sumter was one of them.
Picking a fight against an industrial giant was another of them.
Just goes to show that those who are right do not always win.
You speak of right? You must not remember what the South was fighting about. Yeah, yeah, you have your high-minded lies that you endlessly repeat, but the gentlemen of the South said it themselves: they seceded and fought because they were more interested in keeping their dark-skinned human livestock in bondage.
You neo-confeds are masters of self-delusion. Funny how you keep yapping about freedom and rights, when your ancestors worked so hard to deny freedom and rights to millions.
