They became a party to the conspiracy, and the Democrats compromised the Republican candidate when Leahy and company resolved that John McCain was/is a natural born citizen. He isnt, and was/is equally ineligible to serve as CiC. According to Vattel, he was and is. Because *both* his parents were citizens and he was born "in the armies of the state", regardless of the physical location. (see Vattel, Book I sections 212 and 217, the later contains the "exception" "physically born in the county" while the former is the basic "born in the country of parents who are citizens.
Of course I don't know that the Republican "leadership" is bright enough to have read that part of "Law of Nations".

I know all that, but Vattel died in 1767, while the 13 colonies were still part of the British Empire. Although the "Law of Nations" was used as a template for the U. S Constitution, it is not, and never was U. S. law, and, after all, that's what we're addressing here, isn't it.
