Born and raised in Hawai`i, Dr. West, shown here at his Straub Clinic desk before his retirement, was stationed at the Ford Island Medical Dispensary in Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. Although not an official USS Arizona Memorial Survivor Volunteer, Dr. West greeted visitors and signed his book, Honolulu Prepares for Japan's Attack every Wednesday at the park before passing away this past February. Dr. West will be greatly missed by everyone at the USS Arizona Memorial.
Barbara Nelson was smart enough to use the name of a man who was deceased. Other than that, whatever conflict there may be in the various reports allows you to choose what to believe. Dr West isn't available for comment.
He looks a lot older than 48, which I think is how old he would have been in 1958.Looks more like he is in his 60s or 70’s.....The blur says “before he retired”-——
parsy, who says “Slam Dunk! - he wasn’t retired before Obama was born!”-—Pass the word so the other birthers will quit maykng the same mistake...
And this from that West page link:
“He served some postgraduate work and a preceptorship under Dr. Herbert Bowles and was certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology in 1958. Dr. West practiced at The Straub Clinic and Hospital until his retirement in December 1977. “
If he had quit delivering babies in 1956, then why would he get board certified in OB/GYN in 1958????? Doesn’t make sense.
Where else does it say he retired in 1956?
