If he had quit delivering babies in 1956, then why would he get board certified in OB/GYN in 1958????? Doesn’t make sense.
Where else does it say he retired in 1956?

If you really wanted to drive your point home, and I am never against finding out FACTS, as an American citizen which I assume you are, why don't you write to the website and ask them to explain their article? You would be doing everyone a service by laying this argument to rest. The problem as I see it, isn't when West retired. The issue is, is the Barbara Nelson story fabricated? And as Dr West has (conveniently for her) passed away, we will never know. But the Buffalo paper that carried the orginal story has removed the article. And I cannot find it in the archives.
