There’s more to that Hezekiah tale. The rest of the story:

During his bonus 15 years, Hezekiah fathered a son named Manasseh, who became a boy king when Hez’s time was up. Manasseh became the worst king in the history of Judah. Despite his descendants’ best efforts to clean up Manasseh’s idolatry and corruption, Jehovah lowered the boom and let the Babylonians take Jerusalem and the Jews into captivity.

“Nevertheless, the Lord did not turn away from the heat of his fierce anger, which burned against Judah because of all that Manasseh had done to provoke him to anger. So the Lord said, ‘I will remove Judah also from my presence as I removed Israel, and I will reject Jerusalem the city I chose, and this temple about which I said, There shall my Name be. . .’ “ II Kings 23: 26-27

Moral of the story: Be careful what you ask for, and if your prayer is granted, you dang sure better use the gift wisely.

Sorry about the off-topic post, but it’s an important point to ponder.

The Old Testament is full of one king after the other - one generation after the other - that at least tried to be faithful to God but didn’t pass it on to their children. So the history of Israel is:
faithful generation ... faithless generation.... God’s punishment..... faithful generation..... faithless generation.....God’s punishment.

The thing that most frustrates me about the Cloward-Piven crap is that the people who are trying to raise their families are supporting this whole structure. We are the people earning wages and paying taxes to support the bloated government. We are the people fighting to keep America free.

And in all that, we are also trying to raise decent kids in a society and educational system that the commos are deliberately trying to use to break down the family and all other foundations of the Judeo-Christian society.

While the welfare class gets bigger and bigger, where women make their living off of having welfare babies.... we are doing all the work of the media and law enforcement while holding an ever-growing welfare class on our backs.

I am honestly torn about how best to be faithful in the place I’ve been planted. My sister is worried that the work I’m doing on this is distracting me from my Christian walk and my Christian nurture of the kids.

I know the greatest gift I can give my kids is the knowledge of their Savior. That is eternal. The communists and Islamists can never take that away even if they bankrupt us and cut our heads off. My kids have saving faith, and that is the most important thing in the world to me.

Freedom is a wonderful gift that was handed down to me and if there is any way I can preserve that for my kids while all of us still hold firmly to our Savior, I want to do that.
