jveritas is a long-time poster and not a troll. I think the point he was trying to make was that while Kenya became independent at the end of 1963, it didn’t declare itself a republic until the end of 1964.
My feeling is that it had to be known as something in the interim, and since it planned to be a republic, it may have referred to itself that way in internal documents, regardless of the fact that it wasn’t “official.” The only way to prove it either way would be to find an official Kenyan document from that same period.
Right. I have found contemporary bilateral agreements signed between “Government of Kenya” and other countries. They never refer to “Republic of Kenya” in 1964.
I suggest the document is a forgery.
