Coupla things:
Is there a Joshua Simon Oduya who worked for the Kenyan Dept of Vital Stats in 1964?
Is there an E. F. Lavender who was the hospital registrar at Coast General Hospital in 1961?
Do the sequence numbers of the page and volume records of the original match those that would represent a birth on Aug 4th, 1961?
A hit on ANY of these items would be strong corroborating evidence. A hit on more than one, or possibly all three, seems to me to make it almost a certainty.
Remember, the only documents we have seen from Hawaii make no mention at all of what hospital, name of the registrar or attending physician, nothing. Just that he was born on Aug 4th, 1961
does this help? It’s from Dr. Orly’s site:
Very importantI need someone in HI to confront this piece of work Chiome Fukino and verify under which statute was the BC issued. Was it issued under statute 338-5. If you have an answer, call me ASAP. »Very important. i need verification that E. F. Lavender was British colonial registrar in Mombasa, Kenya in 1961.

Here is a link to a site I found. I assume this would be an innocent request to ask for the names of the Registrars from 1960 to 1970 who handled Mombasa Kenya.

Someone from Hawaii should also check the birth announcement in the Honolulu Advertiser on August 13, 1961 and the Star-Bulletin on August 14, 1961. The originals are supposed to be on some microfilm available in the libraries in Honolulu. The reels are probably missing, too.
The owner of the residence located at 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy, the alleged address of Senator Obamas parents when he was born, was Orland S. and Thelma S. (Young) Lefforge, both of whom are deceased.
Obituary from Honolulu Advertiser:
Orland Scott Lefforge - July 4, 2007
Orland Scott Lefforge, 91, of Honolulu, a University of Hawaii professor, died in Kaiser Medical Center. He was born in Pettisville, Ohio. He is survived by companion Thelma Young, son Daniel, daughters Andrea Harper and Mia Blake, brother Marian, three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services: 11 a.m. next Saturday at the courtyard of George Hall, University of Hawaii at Manoa. Casual attire.
His wife/companion Thelma Jones Lefforge Young died June 12, 2008. This obituary should be checked too. Coincidentally, the original forgery of the COLB was edited in Photoshop on June 12, 2008 08:13.
Orland Lefforge was involved in Democrat politics and was an aide to Senator Inouye in 1967. His last address was:
ORLAND S LEFFORGE
4990 POOLA ST
HONOLULU, HI 96821
(808) 377-5751 (verify)
His son may still live at the address. His phone number is unpublished.
DANIEL LEFFORGE
4990 POOLA ST
HONOLULU, HI 96821
Thank You!

I have searched for hours on this and nothing. The mere fact that this name isnt showing up on the net at all might be suspect. I think Jills suggestion would be the best.

He looks to be in his 70s
.could it be him?
This birth notice, signed by Lavender, was produced way, way back when Obummer was elected. I personally believe it may be valid. I know it was reported someone who at the time was investigating it in Kenya, ended up in prison and had a heck of a time getting out of jail and returning to the U.S.
