Good definition. After months of patronizing the La Salsa taco shop in Mira Mesa, the gals behind the counter decided it would be cute to conduct business with me in Spanish. I played the game. I placed my order in Welsh. The gal looked puzzled. I suggested we stick with English as we both understand it.

I have done that too, with people who tried to speak spanish to me. I always respond in German. They find it irritating, which is the desired effect.
