Then again, if you look around Atlanta proper, you are hard pressed to find any reference to the time frame between 1850 and 1880.
there’s a story in atlanta which was told about the time I moved there in ‘88 (this is supposedly true)..seems a couple was transferring from up north and contacted a real estate company in atlanta..when they arrived, one of the older ladies (mid/late 60’s) was assigned to them..when they were in the office, the couple said they wanted to look at old, antibellum plantation type houses in the area as that’s what they were interested in purchasing..the real estate agent told them, “I can’t because you yankees burned them all down”..the lady was invited to retire shortly thereafter..if it isn’t true, it should be..
