ROMNEY "IS THE FUTURE"

Posted on 02/10/2008 9:56:41 PM PST by swimdad387

I was an ardent Thompson supporter, a dedicated "Fred-Head", when he left the race I was a little uneasy about all the remaining canidates, (some more than others). I decided Gov. Romney was the one I "could live with". After watching his speech at the CPAC, his presentation, his emotion, his obvious conviction, I was sold. Mitt Romney is the future of the "Reagan Revolution". His sacrafice of personel gain for the good of the party, the good of the country.....then McCain couldn't even show up to support his president or his party in the senate on the stimilus package vote, even after Obama and Clinton made the trip to support the Dem's in the senate. NO Governor Romney showed me that day at CPAC that he truely is the future of our party and our, belief's, more importantly, "our country"

Word of Wisdom

Or...

Word of Confusion???

Doctrine and Covenants Section 89

Revelation through Joseph Smith, Kirtland, Ohio, February 27, 1833. History of the Church 1:327-29.

1 A Word of Wisdom, for the benefit of the council of high priests, assembled in Kirtland, and the church, and also the saints in Zion
2 To be sent greeting; not by commandment or constraint, but by revelation and the word of wisdom, showing forth the order and will of God in the temporal salvation of all saints in the last days
3 Given for a principle with promise, adapted to the capacity of the weak and the weakest of all saints, who are or can be called saints.
4 Behold, verily, thus saith the Lord unto you: In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days, I have warned you, and forewarn you, by giving unto you this word of wisdom by revelation
5 That inasmuch as any man drinketh wine or strong drink among you, behold it is not good, neither meet in the sight of your Father, only in assembling yourselves together to offer up your sacraments before him.
6 And, behold, this should be wine, yea, pure wine of the grape of the vine, of your own make.
7 And, again, strong drinks are not for the belly, but for the washing of your bodies.
8 And again, tobacco is not for the body, neither for the belly, and is not good for man, but is an herb for bruises and all sick cattle, to be used with judgment and skill.
9 And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly.
10 And again, verily I say unto you, all wholesome herbs God hath ordained for the constitution, nature, and use of man
11 Every herb in the season thereof, and every fruit in the season thereof; all these to be used with prudence and thanksgiving.
12 Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly;
13 And it is pleasing unto me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or of cold, or famine.
14 All grain is ordained for the use of man and of beasts, to be the staff of life, not only for man but for the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven, and all wild animals that run or creep on the earth;
15 And these hath God made for the use of man only in times of famine and excess of hunger.
16 All grain is good for the food of man; as also the fruit of the vine; that which yieldeth fruit, whether in the ground or above the ground
17 Nevertheless, wheat for man, and corn for the ox, and oats for the horse, and rye for the fowls and for swine, and for all beasts of the field, and barley for all useful animals, and for mild drinks, as also other grain.
18 And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones;
19 And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures;
20 And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.
21 And I, the Lord, give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.

It would appear, given all the LDS INTERNAL disagreements over just what the above REALLY means,
that the Living Prophet® should AGAIN petition the Lord for clarification of the matter.

No “Brandi” listed as a FReeper. I’m guessing that’s a graphic probably from elsewhere, though... Ain’t I pathetic for trying to chase after the owner of it ? :-\

Unfortunately, many conservatives didn’t discover Romney’s great conservative attributes until too late in the primary process...

By then the votes were split between Romney, Thompson, Hunter, Paul, Hucklebee, and even Guiliani — which enabled McCain to win.

The late discovery also allowed scores of Romney haters months and months to spread false propoganda accusing him of every evil under the sun...... including global warmning.

(Some detractors on the forum DID accuse Romney of causing global warming.... just kidding)

Seriously, Romney was the best ProLife, low tax, personal responsibility, hetero-sexual conservative spokesman and candidate the GOP has had in a LONG time.

But, Romney haters are obsessed with one or two dumb pandering comments Romney made 15 years ago during a debate with Ted Kennedy.... and they just kept repeating those Youtube snippets over and over and over.

The other thing I discovered this primary season is that the re seems to be just as many class-envy, class warfare types in Republican circles as there are in the liberal/Democrat wing.

Those were the Romney detractors who start their criticisms with the “fact” that Romney was “trying to buy” the election, or that Romney was too cozy with successful companies and thus would be an awful leader, or that Romney went skiing too much, or whatever.... etc.

Needless to say, I still feel bitter about the whole process, considering that we got stuck with uninspiring McCain, who is painful to watch on TV and in fact makes GWB look like a GOOD public speaker.

I just pray McCain is clear headed enough to pick Romney as VP.

THAT is the only way conservatives such as Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Hannity, Levin, Weyrich, Rick Santorum, Tancredo ..... will get enthusiastic enough to promote the GOP ticket.

Thanks. Yes, I’ve seen her page before, but I don’t think those are her pics. The one girl on the page is quite clearly Jessica Simpson.

Hello Elsie we have not met yet on here. I try to get to my pings as fast as I can but I was not sure if you really wanted a reply or if you were just making a statement. LOL

Yes I am somewhat shy as I think most people are when so many know each other and I was new here. I watched threads for a long time and saw how most people were kind and caring and others for whatever reason seemed to like to be rude for no reason at all. So I wanted to join but did it slowly. I still read threads much more then I post in them because of this.

fieldmarshaldj and Elise I hope to see you both in other threads and I hope you stop by my little profile page Jim Robinson has been so kind to let all us have.

I have seen some here at FR that are totally awesome!

Have a great day.

I feel embarrassed. I hit on Brandie last year when I thought those were her pics... (unless the kiss my tooshie is, though I thought that’s Jessica Simpson, too). Shouldn’t use those pics and give us single FReeper males false hopes... *sobbing*

The mittens don't care...they adore him, just like the Obamaniacs adore Barry. Dozens of them were swooning over him on the mitt threads....
