Not by... um... anyone whose opinion I have respected much, most people would see Hermione as Rowling’s “self insertion” rather than Ginny.

Yeah... if Ginny had been a real Mary-Sue, she would have been smarter than Hermione, and a more loyal friend to Harry than Ron was. ;)
