I read the book online, and am now re-reading my hard copy. Who is the muggle who does magic?

Those muggles only existed in the fevered minds of the new Ministry.

One of the saddest parts for me was when Snape wanted Harry to look at him when he was dying. He wanted to see Lily’s eyes one last time was the way I saw it.

Ah!

I haven’t read a one yet, but will someday, when I get sick and am laid up for a while.

If you're laid up and can't see/read, I highly recommend the audio books...

I was half expecting him to lose his powers or something.

Me too.

I wanted to know what happened to Luna in the epilogue,

I was hoping she and Neville...

So everyone, what would Dumbledore see in the Mirror of Erised?

Peace. He wanted proof that it wasn't him that killed his sister.

Notice that there’s no reference to professions?

Yes, dammit!

(by the way, I found the "child-creature" in the background of Harry's conversation with Dumbledore to be reeeealy creepy!) ~ Bear_in_RoseBear

I assumed that was Voldemort. Wasn't that sort of how he was described after the first attempt at killing Harry went wrong? ~ Dianna

That was my assumption as well.

It was still reeeealy creepy/disturbing...

One of the unanswered questions of the epilog is whether they ever went back to recover the eye and give it a better burial,

The eye was taken as part of the selfsame adventure where the locket was recovered, and properly buried.

and that HP's future would be Minister of Magic and include twelve children, bringing Trelawney's number of accurate predictions up to three.

He ain't dead yet!

I wondered about that, too, but at that point, Voldemort is just in such victory mode that he's not thinking anything except "He's dead; I win!!"

He was also probably still feeling the effects of being that beyond comfort thing in King's Cross

And as much as I liked Mrs. Weasleys part I wished it had been Neville to finish Bellatrix off.

Well, he did get to enable the death of the only thing Bellatrix loved - Voldy

I would just go check in the book, except now my wife’s got a death grip on it.

Use the Sloth Grip Roll to prise it out of her hands...

(That entire Epilogue seemed very out of place.)

She trying to avoid being trapped into writing endless sequels...

It occurred to me when reading the ministry chapters that almost no one was willing to stand up for what was right... Not Umbridge’s employees, not the secretary who must of witnessed tons of vile hearings, not even the janitor whose wife was under investigation or even those being investigated.

Having been in a cult that suffered a hostile takeover, I can attest that this is quite true to life.

I really enjoyed it. I’m listening to the Jim Dale audio now.

Just finished it myself. How did you like it?

Heh, Ginny was there on the train platform, wanting to go to Hogwarts, in Book 1. Just like young Lily at the end of Book 7.

Yes there was a certain sense of coming full circle, wasn't there?

Hedwig. Does that make me weird?

Yes, but OTOH, there are loads of things that make you weird...

I hope this series is preparing an entire generation of English kids to fight the war of their generation against radical Islam.

Bingo.
