the heirarchy of the priesthood (as well as abstaining from intercourse prior to serving in the temple) was established long before Christ, and Christ made no mention of doing away with the priesthood.
It has nothing to do with geneology, it has to do with protestants arbitrarily re-writing the rules set forth for said priesthood, as well as the new testament clarifications on those rules.

Jesus Christ was a descendant of Aaron though Mary. Christ did a whole lot more than make a few clarifications.
Was it all of the Jews or just some of them. Even the itty bitty babies? Was it those who were worried about the heresies that Christ was trying bring into the Jewish community, most especially His disrespect for the Priesthood?
