I've never posted a straight Vanity before.
But I am sick and tired of this good conservative, generally religious site being overrun by people posting "I'd hit it", whenever a picture of a good-looking girl is displayed.
It's demeaning, it's immoral, and I guess I'm just a prude but announcing to the world that you'd like to have sex with a woman based on her picture, like she was some object, hardly seems like the appropriate attitude on a conservative political site.
But rather than post in response to any particular person, I figured I'd just vent here where everybody could see and make fun of me.
So go ahead. I thank you for whatever indulgence you have given me in this rant.
Back to your regularly scheduled oggling and hitting.
Somebody should send a copy of this thread to MTV. Generation Y thinks Republicans and Conservatives are a bunch of prudish, uptight Bible thumpers with no sense of humor.
This will dispell that myth and win us votes.
You're right. Let me help. Since this is a place to discuss conservative issues and conservative thought, I am shocked and appalled that after 500+ posts, nobody has yet posted a picture of Michelle Malkin...THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!
Apparently, Michelle doesn’t want us to hit it unless we first “hit it”, meaning her web site.
What were you thinking when you first posted this vanity? You knew in advance since you’ve been here for a while that FReepers are not all humorless, asexual members of the WCTU. There are libertarians here who hate political correctness.
I’d hit that!! She’s smoking hot.
I disagree slightly. I think Conservatives and small l libertarians know where to draw the line.
THE GOLDEN RULE: It’s all fun and games until you hurt someone else. Not annoy someone else...really hurt someone else.
Defenseless children are off limits and that includes defenseless children in the womb. PC Liberal logic is truly fascinating. You all know what I mean.
23 "Everything is permissible" but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible" but not everything is constructive. 24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. You speak of a "Golden Rule":
THE GOLDEN RULE: Its all fun and games until you hurt someone else. Not annoy someone else...really hurt someone else.
And indeed, if I were talking to someone who said they were hurt by "I'd hit it", I would advise them to not allow others boorish behavior define their own mood.
But here I'm talking to the people saying "I'd Hit It". And I say: What is permissible is not constructive, what is permissible is not beneficial.
The reference is generally gratuitous, is not nearly as funny as those making it think, objectifies women, demeans the discourse, and makes some people feel put off, attacked, and debased.
And while people are free to speak their mind, I appeal to the conscious of those who post, to think about what they write, to consider how it reflects on them and others, to understand how their words can be hurtful, and to then heed Paul's admonition:
Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
I hope this also answers the question you asked previously, as to why I posted this. Well, that and I did think it would be a funny thread. I hoped it would both be funny, drawing people in, and informative, making people think a little more about what they are doing, to consider others more than themselves.
Charles, that would also seem to apply to the posting of images of Monica Belluci. Dang, now I've got to go off and repent a while...
By the way, Happy Monday.
Try as I might to uphold a principle, I find it hard to agree that posting an image of Monica Belluci was not “beneficial”. I guess it depends on what you were trying to benefit. :-)
Well, in my defense, it wasn't a risque photo, and she's quite lovely apart from her capacity to induce lust. So I suppose posting the image wasn't a prima facie sin. On the other hand, I knew it would induce paroxysms of "I'd Hit It!" from hither and yon.
I’d apply for the job, but you just know that the person that does it is a eunuch or gay.... dang it.
It’s a disgusting phrase that one expects over at DU but is all too often found here. I doubt that many who use it even in a sarcastic way would bandy it about in front of their mothers or their eight-year-olds.
That certainly answers my question about why you posted this. Thanks.
I haven't studied the Paris threads as closely as I should have, but it occurs to me that no one has ever said that which needs saying: Am I the Only One who is sick and tired of "I'd Hit It"? |
ROFLMAO
Paris does nothing for me. On the other hand, that pic of Salma in the white dress....
