The attacks on %100 pure blood lib Lowell Weicker weren't this poisonous.
The virulent strain of these 2007 sign ups bashing Rudy smack of campaign operatives FROM opposing camps.
It was Rudy’s poll numbers....riiiight.
When did I say I’d known about FR for “a while”? I usually just write to my representatives.
“It was Rudys poll numbers....riiiight.”
It was the prospect of a pro-gun control Republican candidate.
Ever think you’re just really paranoid? LOL!
Wonderful. You also stated that you came to the conclusion, that you did not need them in NY, and you didn't particularly care that they are essentially banned there. I lived in Chicago, LA, been in Milwaukee, Detroit, and lots of other places that are very similar to NY and know w/o a doubt that an effective self defence, is only available with firearms. Giuliani not only denied NYers the right, but he also did his best to take it nationwide. For that, he deserves the wrath of gun owners.
"No, I don't think Rudy is going to take my guns away."
WHatever. He already did it to some FReepers, and it's well know he only allowed special folks to keep there's. His record speaks for itself, and contradicts what you say.
"I will own them and have the right to defend myself and my property before and after he took office."
That's an empty statement, since you already indicated you were happy with Giuliani's grab in NY.
And you really think that Rudy would risk alienating his base by being a gun-grabber when even the Gore and Kerry think it’s a dead issue.....and you call us paranoid?
Yes. I do. It’s too much his nature.
“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue. “
- Barry Goldwater, 1963
He lies when he says that was only about NYC - never mind the idea that NYC is no longer part of the United States and subject to the Constitution - as he tried to destroy the arms industry and institute bans NATIONWIDE.
What do you mean risk his base? Gun owners don't support him, unless you're talking about wanna bees and the country club shooters. Giuliani's already alienated them. He's a Daley, that isn't so fond of high taxes. Hence, his base is the CC crowd.
Actually, just wise to alot of the games that go on around here! ROTFLMAO!
What you accuse me of in this thread is pretty virulent in its own right.
I will be joining you in supporting whomever is the GOP general election standard-bearer. I don't think the Republic will survive eight more years of the clinton's tepid response to jihad.
I cannot help but notice, though, that when Rudy's past record is brought up, with its notably unconservative actions, initiatives, and statements, that somehow this is considered "abuse".
The credibility of a political statement is ordinarily inversely proportional to the proximity of the election. This time, however, the campaign has begun early.
The only way to know where the candidates stand is to seek out and discuss their prior records, warts and all.
If we do not, we can be assured the opposition will, especially in the general election campaign.
If that scrutiny is to be considered abusive, so be it. Failure to conduct it serves neither the party, the electorate, not the Republic.
What a purely lasless comment. Clearly you are not watching the game very closely and are not presenting an unbiased point of view here. In the last week, posts pulled from Rudy supporters have outumbered those by intelligent freepers who refuse to support a liberal scumbag by well in excess of 5 to 1, so take your lies back to what ever liberal forum you belong on, but it's not FR.
Liberals don't give a damn about the constitution, and Rudy is a liberal.
A lasless comment, LOL!
I guess the truth hurts, right?
Yes, he is. Makes one wonder at the motivation of those who DEMAND our vote for him.
Do you support Giuliani?
I don't know who I am backing yet and probably won't make a decision for several months, if at all. My primary is very late and the nominee will be chosen by then, so I am trying to not get too involved yet.
However, the calling of Guiliani supporters "Rutards," the attacks on Mrs. Guiliani (calling her everything from a whore to a puppy killer) and the posting of pictures of Guiliani in drag are really not contributing to the political discussion in any meaningful way. Neither are the attacks on Romney's faith (such as these keywords) nor the insinuations about Thompson's work ethic. It is rather reminscent of the Brownshirt behavior in the 1930's which the left has enthusiastically adopted, and I don't like it at all.
