You’ve hit the nail on the head. Most of us watch Idol to get away from the troubles of the world for a couple of short hours each week. We are an overly generous nation, and already give billions in foreign aid to Africa, only to have it ripped off by greedy and tyrannical leaders like the late Idi Amin.
If Idol is going to shovel this particular kind of BS every season, then this is the last season I will be watching.
This could definitely be Idol's "jump the shark", moment.
I agree with you. I like giving to charity. I’m extremely thankful that I have money I can just give away. I am by no means rich, nor am I living some extragant lifestyle. But I am thankful that I’ve got a job, a home, and more then enough food in the kitchen. I’m doing better then a lot of people.
BUT, I don’t like being manipulated into giving.
Being on the West Coast, I haven't watched the show yet. But I agree totally. Earth to AI producers -- we tune in to be entertained, not to be harangued by limousine liberals and their entirely phony "give back" schtick.
Oh, I couldn't agree more. The very idea of people helping people is just so offensive. Children watch this show....they may start to think it's okay to care about others! This is an outrage!
