The fact that Elliott''s first single is just outside the top 40 on Mediabase is excellent, particularly since he doesn't have a big label behind him. Again, as of this morning's update, there were over 600 curent singles being tracked on the Pop chart. Pop is by far the hardest genre to break into and succeed. So Elliott has much to be proud of and draw encouragement from.
Not to take anything away from a new artist like Bucky, but he can break into the top 30 in Country so quickly simply because there are far fewer artists doing that genre. Country radio is hungry for new artists and new music.
I feel a bit disappointed simply because the song writing on the album doesn’t match the vocal talent. Too many filler lines and lame lyrics. I suppose it’s hard to find really good stuff if you are not working with a major label and if the guy has been singing great songs for three months on national tv then the quickly produced stuff isn’t going to compare.
I am also glad to hear that Bucky has a good start. Elliott and he got to be good friends and E spoke the world of him as a person.
