Hello AI Fans! I am from Arizona and a big fan of this thread (been lurking on it all year and being very entertained!) and JORDIN SPARKS!!

Right now I am watching local coverage of Jordin’s big homecoming rally in Glendale. She is singing Happy Birthday to Arizona Cardinals QB Matt Leinert right now!!

AND here’s a scoop for everyone...the mayor read a letter from Simon Cowell letting Jordin know that the song he has chosen for her to sing this week is “Wishing On A Star” by Rose Royce. I don’t know the song but I see it came out in 1987 which is a little before Jordin’s time but I think she can perform it well.

She’s singing Give Me One Reason now...

She’s received personalized jerseys from all the local sports teams. It’s a huge crowd - outside in the 100+ degree heat.

GO JORDIN!!

AND GO AI FREEPERS!!!

Thanks for the scoop. Jordin is a wonderful youg person, and she will do well in life, with or without AI. She spreads joy wherever she goes. God bless her and the parents who raised her that way.

Jonny here’s a Ping to dittomom ‘s “9,902 of 9,902” maybe she’d like to be added to Your A I ping list? Good times!

She probably just attatched her note to my prior commment to adderss all of us...

Dittomom how neat that one of the better finalists Jordin lives close to you!

My pick to win was Phil but you know that if you’ve been lurking and reading huh?

If ever you want to ping anyone dittomom just place each name you want to alert or ping into the recipient box ie my examples in this post...Don’t forget to separate each name with a semicolon.

Thanks for the tips. Yes, I was just a little lazy and replied to the last person on the thread who happened to be you. (And yes, I liked Phil's voice too!) Here's a photo from a local news site ...

Valley 'Idol' Sparks heats up Westgate with free concert The article along with it says she has decided to sing "I Who Have Nothing" this week. That performance gave me goosebumps so I hope she nails it again!!

Jonny, you can add me to the ping list if there's still room - ;o)

Grrrrrrrrrr...guess Randy didn't get the memo about Whitney songs being banned around here!!!

Roxanne is an interesting choice for Blake though.

I don’t mind at all that you attached to my post I just didn’t want Jonny/All to miss it is all...
;o)

I think that “ I Who Have Nothing” has been Jordin’s best performance thus far...Her best...Thanks for the ping to that pic & the song links.

Best over all to me... is a tie between “Where The Blacktop Ends” or “Blaze of Glory” by Phil.

Though Blake did a good job on “Time of the Season” too.

Any song Phil sang I like the best though. His voice/personality was /is my fave.

Even if I didn’t care for all his song choices...I still enjoyed how well he sang everthing!

P.S re: tips my pleasure!Sounds like you knew most of them though. LOL!

Just moseying through comments and your wording popped out at me I obviously don't know how to make tags why not show those who don't know how to do that portion of HTML code? Pretty please sugar on top? That would be ever so kind and helpful of you!

Interesting choices. Melinda will do well with the Whitney Houston number.

Now that’s a pretty dress on that sweet young thing.

I love the way Jordin sang “I Who Have Nothing”. That’s a very good song choice for next Tuesday.

I am in a quandary...I want Jordin to win; but I also want Melinda to win.

Can there be two winners?

Melinda entered the competition because she believed that she was more than a backup singer; a point which she has demonstrated week after week.

Even if Jordin wins the official competition Melinda also wins--indeed, she has already won. She is a background singer no more.

” Melinda also wins—indeed, she has already won. She is a background singer no more.”

True. She could also go on the lecture circuit in the colleges, teaching today’s girls how to be ladies. She is an excellent role model.

teaching today’s girls how to be ladies.

For that reason alone, she deserves to win.
Success will never spoil Melinda.

Does America reward humility? We'll see.
