Well that thread got pulled! Anyway it was on Bruce Springsteen and all the wonderful charities he is working for and how all the cool bands want to work with him....that was the gist of the article. I haven’t heard his name in the lineup of stars for the AI charity event, so I thought it might be likely that he and Bono sing a song together.

Oh. Wow. That would be probably very painful to hear. I like early Springsteen, before he decided he was some kind of crappy poet or really deep or whatever. And I like U2, but I can’t imagine all the straining that would go on. Someone is likely to have a stroke.

Look at my post 6961.... the article was about Bruce Springsteen and all the “charities” he is involved with and all the good work he does. I wondered if the duet could be him and Bono(since Bono does a lot of work in Africa). ONe of the charities mentioned for Springsteen was a children’s charity that feeds the poor children in other nations...... This may not be who is doing the singing for AI but why write this article now? It also talked about how he is cool again among new and rising stars and bands.

But when they highlighted that portion they showed a man and a woman in silhouette. Course I suppose that could be a generic presentation.

Oh, I didn’t see that part. Well could be, so who do you think it might be?

Thank you. I doubt that he will disappear. Time will tell. I hope he has enough support to make it through the public’s ridicule.

Truthfully we don’t know what the circumstances are. And we don’t know who did the dumping. That marriage may have been in trouble before he even tried out for AI. To be honest, I think he’s way to young to have been married in the first place.

Actually, Bucky is older than he looks...about 29.

About 2000 posts up someone posted a link to an article interviewing an “A&R” person in the music industry. This is the person, like Simon Cowell, whose job it is to scope out and develop talent. Anyway, they said that Sanjaya would be their dream client. They could mold him into a teen superstar and make tons of money. For about two years. They said that is the average longevity for that category of talent. Backstreet Boys, for example. Jordin and Blake were their second choices. As memory serves: Blake - parents are highly suspicious of the whole hip-hop/ rap genre. Blake, a nice looking white kid, comes along, appeals to kids and is reassuring to the parents. Jordin is young and malleable. She can be molded into just about anything.

I wish I had bookmarked that article because the insights were fascinating.

Wonder where that ridicule comes from? Perhaps due to the fact that he did not belong in the top 24?

I kinda felt sympathy for him, being caught in a situation he did not create. Howard Stern and Vote for the Worst keeping him in the competition. But then, Sanjaya started developing a most unattractive attitude and that sealed it for me.

I seriously doubt that Sanjaya will have any sort of singing career, at least not at the level that Jordin or Melinda will. Is he a nice kid in school? Probably, he just wasn't at the level that one would expect of an American Idol top 12.

Wow he doesn’t look it. Pushing 30. I feel less guilty now. LOL.

But seriously, there’s a lot of potential there. This is part of what AI is missing this season.

I completely agree. He didn’t belong there and that’s the fault of the judges for putting him through. But he developed that attitude all on his own. Last night was a long time coming.

I think we’ll see him for a little while just as we see all the contestants of any given season. But he will also fade away as the rest of them do.

Here's the latest on where Elliott's and Bucky's singles sit on the Mediabase radio airplay charts (also Kellie Pickler's new single).

POP: #43 ELLIOTT YAMIN Wait For You

COUNTRY: #23 BUCKY COVINGTON A Different World

COUNTRY: #27 KELLIE PICKLER I Wonder

It might seem that Bucky's single is more successful than Elliott's, but bear in mind that Country is a considerably smaller "universe" than Pop (Top 40). At the moment, there are 670 current songs on the publicly viewable Pop radio airplay chart. With Country, they only track 30 current songs on the publicly viewable chart. So it isn't possible to do a one-for-one comparison between Pop and Country artists.

Oh, okay. They sound disgusting. I hate altoids, love chocolate so it seems a hideous thing to do to perfectly good chocolate to me. LOL!

There’s another one made by York. They look like white mints on the outside but are chocolate inside. If I hadn’t been in public when I found that out, it would have been an unattractive display.

Interesting. He obviously doesn’t have the quality of Melinda or Jordin’s voices. Melinda especially is a almost a pro!

My choices tend to be in the minority —e.g. I like President Bush. There is something about Sanjaya that is genuine to me. Good pitch with no vibrato or full chest of air.

However, I hear the public disdain loud and clear.
