The season-long ill treatment of the previously reigning Idol (one Taylor Hicks) was extrememly cheap, cynical and distasteful on the part of AI. It probably contributed at least in a small part to the declining ratings, at the very least the Taylor fan base has forever been turned off the show, and with good reason. Until now, no previous winner was so rarely highlighted during the following season and when so, dismissed or trashed. There was bound to be a blowback for such poor treatment of a contestant, who, whether you wanted him to win or not, worked hard and stayed positive to earn the title.
I watched On the Lot last night and thought it was pretty good.
the problem though is that they won’t realize what the real reason are for lower ratings, they will chalk it up to having been around too long.
Yes, it was on last night and Tues. night. I loved the 2 films, the one with the special effects and the one with the homeless man. Those were really well done.
I liked those two as well. Looking forward to the next episode.

Yes! I can’t wait! My mom and dad asked us to do something with them, but it’s July 21. I kept thinking, “That date sounds familiar...” and my mom said, “It’s the same day the new Harry Potter book comes out.” I said, “Oh well, then we’ll have to let you know.” LOL!!
The other day my husband said something about kind of being annoyed to have to participate in all the HP hoopla coming up. I said, “Hey! You are making me go see Transformers and Die Hard! I think we are even!” LOL!!
It was a good article, but it seemed like the author had more of a “hate-hate” relationship with the show then a “love-hate” relationship. The only thing they seemed to like was Melinda. BUT, a lot of the points were similar to ones we made here.

Glad I’m not the only one who’s noticed the poor treatment of Taylor. It makes no sense. True, he hasn’t sold as many CDs as Daughtry, but he’s been touring, getting great reviews and performing for sold-out crowds. You’d think AI would brag about that, saying, “Look how successful our winners are!”
Supposedly the sales of Taylor’s CD are up on amazon.com since the finale. Imagine how well he’d be selling if AI had promoted him properly all along, instead of ignoring or dissing him.
